So I pull my arse out of retirement to play Uber, who has been itching to beat me for what seems like forever now.

I am now officially never going to hear the end of it.

It looked promising to start, open with a BLITZ! In Uber's favor, which he capitalizes well on (Luck 100% first two turns) and scores. His OTS proves quite able, and but 1 turn after halftime, he is in front by a touchdown.

But then the Curse of Nuffle took over, and some very untimely dice later, I manage to squeak out a turn 15 score, with two intact SideSteppers and my treeman to thwart a pushy OTS...only to get a Perfect Defense. OTS chance nullfied, game over.

And to all you critics who thought I was taking it easy on him:
1) Look who won.
2) Look who lost a player.
3) Yeah, I apothed that BH wardancer. Because I wanted to win. And in case my third Side Stepper didn't recover from KO (which indeed he did not), I needed two Side Steppers plus my Treeman to stop a late game OTS for a tie or win. Besides, putting my Side Step War Dancer on the line meant that he couldn't OTS that drive, giving me a crack at the pesky +MA Sprinter on the pitch...

GG Uber, sorry I pulled my finger out yet again. Maybe someday I'll come out of retirement again and give you yet another chance...(though we'd better make sure it isn't the same teams...can you imagine if two years from now you finally beat me - only to have the game nullified because I had played the same team of yours last game...!)

#12 Liltaar The Rapid – Dead (RIP)
Thanks for the game CorporateSlave, in the end it came down to my 2 consectutive turnovers in the last few turns.

As I've been saying for ages, for all my fancy stat increases I'm still lacking too many basic skills to win games reliably. My little OTS antics kept me up in the game, but overall I was outmatched. Not enough side step, not enough dodges, not enough tackles. All my good players miss at least one of those. The end result is a team that looks good, but comes up short most of the time. Basically, not that hard to beat, just wait for me to mess up.

It was a good game, but I just couldn't make my rolls when I needed them the most, but that's how the game is played. I also made a few really dumb mistakes that really didn't help and in part resulted in the dead lion, but the least valuable one so it's not that big of a deal. It keeps me under 275 so I can keep earning.

If the next time I don't get you, I may have to drive down to Florida and beat you up in front of your wife to get even. I hope it doesn't come down to that! ;-)
