Another bone-crunching games for Eleventeen, this time against the Dwarven Nordics. After the kickoff, Glassjaw Gary sprinted into the backfield, to try to scoop up a fumbled ball, but he stepped right on the ball and fell! Two drarven runners bashed him into the dirt, and took the ball up the field. In a slow, grinding drive, the Nordics pushed players off the field and made ground, eventually scoring near the end of the half.

In the second half, Eleventeen fielded a more dodgy team, with both throwers and all three catchers. Eleventeen cracked open the Nordic line, and Bart Starwell snapped up the ball and ran up to Fingers Freddy and tried to flip him the ball. Freddy wasn't paying attention, and the ball bounced right off his helmet and landed in Bart's hands! Eleventeen blitzers formed a skirmish line to hold off the dwarves, and Bart's next toss to Freddy found him ready to go. Freddy dodged passed the end of the Nordic line, and found his way up the sideline for a score.

On the ensuing kickoff, the Eleventeen line was caught offguard, and all three players were knocked out of the match as the ball came down. Edgar 'Bulldog' Davids was worst off, with a fractured skull (he got better). With the center of the team missing, Eleventeen were not able to put up resistance, and the Nordics slowly drove down the field, leaving few Eleventeen players on the field. Fingers Freddy suffered a concussion and may be unavailable for the next game. The Nordics scored as time expired to seal the 2-1 victory.

A fine match and a fine opponent. Good lord, when will Eleventeen blitzers stop hitting like daffodils?
