I was sure I was going to lose this as my opponent had 16 players and smelling salts to keep bodies on the pitch, and AG 5 players all over the place.

But as often is the case in elf on elf games, it was the curse of the 1s that settled this match.

The Falcons started in defence and the Fools had a snake-eyes with their Thrower to drop the ball (can't recall if it was a fumble or a failed GFI). The Falcons stole the ball but rolled their own snake-eyes with their ball carrier trying to GFI to safety. Worse still, the ball carrier KO'd herself!!!

Looked like an easy recovery TD for my opponent but of course, he then rolled a 1 or snake eyes to lose the ball again! This time my dice were average and I got the lucky go ahead TD.

The Fools at 0-1 down had a chance to equalise after the Falcons applied heavy pressure and the clock was running down in the first half. Some greedy turn 8 blocks netted a one dice skull? and then another and they failed to score what looked like a certain TD!!!

The Falcons had a chance to score another TD - a difficult chance mind you - but their Witch caught the bouncing ball after blitzing the Fools ball carrier and the Falcons were unable to pass the ball upfield to try a score.

Second half, both teams scored two TDs with a fair amount of 1s complicating things for both teams. Injury Time robbed the half of a turn and the Fools started each drive 2 TDs behind and did not get the lucky break to steal the ball back and tie the game.

Was a fun game against an expert Wood Elf coach. I have a lot of respect for Mr_Launcher who is fearless with his play style and always gives me a great match. We have now played 8 times (with various teams over 3 years) and it is 3 wins to me, 2 draws and 2 wins to him. Always a tight contest and I am sure he will get his revenge the next time we meet.

The luckier coach won today.

Still, no FF loss for either of us and a little bit of money, I am very happy heh.
