“Round 1 of the new season saw the limping and damaged old men of Killilith line up against the New Kids on teh Block from Santiago.

Handicaps of Virus and Buzzing. Killilith were looking forward to starting their first ever game (as far as the coach can remember) with a reserve, but virus ruled that out and it was 11 on 11.

A good performance from Killilith who felt that they controlled the game.
Could have been 2-0 except for a double roll of "both down" on turn 8 that stopped a TD. Killilith had a 2 dice block on a single defender. A push would have sufficed to allow the ball carrier to waltz two squares for a TD so instead of taking an AG4 (no dodge) dodge, the block was made.... bummer.

Tough start for Santiago, particularly losing a player so early due to lack of apothecary. As the Killilith coach knows only too well..... elves are expensive to replace. Oh well - next round Killilith have 13 starters - so not even Virus can stop us from having a reserve. We just wont know what to do!!

Hard to allocate points since Santiago had no passes, cas, TD or intercepts.

3 points: Number 9 (Vanakame Moonfighter) - r taking up the defensive position that stopped the second TD. A great "never say die" attitude.

2 points: Number 3 (Vedunetto Malvae) - 9 blocks on the day and a nuisance around the park.

1 point: Number 8 (Raketeer Bleakvoyager) - because he had the gall to foul a prone player (fortunately even witha few supports he got no more than a prone result).
