Well, the morning after this game and I'm still feeling bitter. No fault of Arta's, he played very well and made things very difficult. My main anger is at nuffle, for allowing me to fail important ball pickups, while giving Arta the 4 and even 5+ rolls he needed at times.

A tough game throughout, sidestep skinks being a real pain, but the Saurus amazingly uneffective agains the Norse's meagre armour. Good old Nikoliev performed as expected, 2 cas including the very annoying Balljuggler.

Votes

#3 - Balljuggler - AG5 Skinks should die, especially when they make ball handling in the rain so easy. I regret not gang fouling this guy earlier, but Arta wisely gave me few opportunities.

#2 - Ballnipper - Great performance for this rookie, I expect to see another mega-skink developed soon.

#1 - Erool III - Bloody annoying and always threatening.

Thanks for the game Arta, GL with the rest of the season. As for the Blight, well, we now need to perform as well (Armour wise!) vs the dreaded KFC!

#6 Balljuggler – Serious Concussion (-AV)
#7 Ballnasher – Dead (RIP)
Game 48 – SWL 18, Round 1

Here it is at last fans – PREMIER! After becoming a regular in the Conferences, the Fossils have finally lifted to play their first game with the Big Boys.

The lads took the field wearing black legbands as a show of respect for recently retired Balldrinker II, the second Fossils Superstar who, due to a troubling niggling injury decided to pursue his stockbroker career. Perhaps his decision would have been different if he knew that Ballnasher (the block/kick/stripball skink) would play his last game today combined with Balljuggler going and becoming even more fragile with a -AV injury. The Fossils are looking well past their career TR/TS peak of two games ago.

The game itself was a muddy affair with rain throughout. For once the crowd had no direct impact on the players and no blitz kick-offs, so the game seemed to lack the controversy that so often comes with the game we love.

Coach ArtaXerxes' pick highlight play came at around 3/4 time when stunty dodging penetrated a loose cage to provide 2 assists and the ball jarring blitz from skink enforcer Ballspinner. While the Twahnlow votes when to Ballnipper for his dashing pick-up and finish, it was Ballspinner who turn the game around from a potential 2-2 draw to the 3-1 win.

Twahnlows:
3 votes - Nikoliev 'Shloss!' Sazzeyev for making the most of his +ST and Tackle skills
2 votes - Busar Littlenoff Pegoski for always constant pressure on the ball
1 vote - Boonyaah Delecht for doing the hard ball work in shocking Melbourne weather.
