#1 Fenrus Switchblade – Dead (RIP)
#15 Grimshade Hex – Dead (RIP)
Game 3, Season 18

A very to and fro game with the result up for grabs right at the very end. Things started well and my rolls were good while Arta's were ordinary at best. The Riders didn't have trouble scoring but the Fossils continued to go tit-for-tat largely thanks to some heroics from Balljuggler. Around turn 5 or so we had to reload and from then on my luck seemed to sour. A RIP (apo failiure) was soon followed by another. While we tried to make it as hard as possible for the lizards that annoying skink kept pulling their irons out of the fire from all sorts of awkward positions. If it hadn't been for the fact the recieving skinks dropped a few crucial passes, they would have finished well ahead.

Predictably the RIPs were both healthy players and with only 11 for the next game and 3 nigglers our chances don't look great for the rest of the season. A game that probably clinched our pre-season thinking that this season might be the Riders last.

Twahnlows

3 Points - Balljuggler. Who else? He extricated the ball from difficult positions almost constantly. He set up all three TD's and was the difference between a loss and gaining the draw, no question.

2 Points - Parbag. One spectacular play where he blitzed to get the TD from a challenging position and caused the second RIP on the way.

1 Point - Vugdish III. The best of the remaining Sauri, most of his blocks were telling.

Game 50 – SWL 18 Game 3

An exciting and close game for the Fossils 50th. Being hospitable, pregame drinks were offered to the Duskriders who politely declined (except for Darkblood Deadwing who popped over late. Funny how he missed several kick-offs being “otherwise engaged”).

The Fossils obviously were also suffering somewhat from the pregame drinks. Plays that should have been nailed 8 out of 9 times kept failing. Eventually things turned around in the second half (well, the safe plays still failed, but the risky ones worked).

The restart seemed part of Nuffle's justice system. For those who read about the Duskriders restart problems in the previous game, retribution was receive (at the expense of the Fossils) when no Fossil could select a blitz move after the restart. A poor 3 cornered cage was the result and Darkblood Deadwing's blitz secured a 2-1 lead at half time (Damn, wasn't suppose to be off the field suffering Morleys?).

A real lowlight for the Fossils was when Coach Arta called fullback Vugdish III forward into the main ruck, while Vilecurse Ranklowhid lurked in the endzone with his hiding in shadows ability. The Fossils tactics were shown up when the ball bounced close to Medina Megrim who scooped it up and passed to Vilecurse to score. While a formal complaint is being lodged to the ground owner about the level of lighting in that part of the field, coach Arta will need to improve his eyesight to spot such sneaky moves in the future.

Twahnlow Votes:
3 pts - Medina Megrim for a super debut game, main scorer, assisted the 3rd touchdown and in true Witch-Elf fashion made the Fossils think twice about using the sidelines.
2 pts - Twilight Deathmoth, a blodge, blockle, sidesteping St4 thorn in the Fossils side where-ever he chose to strut his stuff.
1 pt - Duskwind Strongarm – This thrower is no weak link in the side with St4 and Ag5. Played a sterling game even though Nuffle distorted what worked and what didn't.
