#10 Tribaleskie Fowluten – Dead (RIP)
We were dreading this game with good reason. Zen Adepts have a deadly reputation and the fact they’d beaten KFC in the last round without so much as a MNG had us worried. Still, handicaps again came to the party with ‘It Wasn’t Me’ hitting Disciple Shariputra and ‘Bad Press’ leaving the Adept’s fans dispirited. In a controversial move (well, I thought immediately afterwards), Zara the Slayer was kept on the sideline for the first half, hoping to use her ST4 later in the game.

Kickoff and the rain started pouring. The Blight cornered the ball and took out Ino Thought with a well placed Foul. We got the ball and moved around, trying to find gaps in the Adept defence. Then, we started loosing players and a push forward got stalled by double skulls. Oldbugmanoff was duly sacked and will miss the next game with a sprained ego.

The turnover meant all focus now was trying to stop the ball carrier and we managed to tie up the Bull Centaurs enough so that the Adepts tried to score with his Hobgoblins. A foul on Ino Understanding unfortunately caused a niggle, which Flo apothed. Blight players now were being KO’d and BH’d in quick turn, with Busar Littlenoff Pegoski a big loss. Time running out, Flo tried to get the ball in range of a score but lucked out on a pass and the Blight made it to the 2nd half with the score 0-0.

The crowd were restless at the 2nd half kickoff, and a thrown rock killed Hakuyu. Flo, enraged, moved to bash the Blight into submission and did a good job too, more BH’s and KO’s coming. Pushing through the centre, Flo engaged Kranksy (who must have changed his name after enlistment, as I thought he was named Kransky!) and decided to try and injure the rookie Ogre. Kranksy, who had been fairly inactive the last half, surprised everyone by trying to take the star Bull on and went for the 1 die block. He succeeded in dropping Tetsugyu Mindful on his head and cracked the old Bulls skull. An omen! The Norse gods were surely on the Blight’s side.

The Blight pushed forward, trying to trap Abhaya, but the sneaky Hobgob got around Nufflekoff Cursenen. This proved fortuitous, however, as it left Nufflekoff in range of scoring, if only he could get the ball. Luckily, Abhaya spilled the ball and Boonyaah Delecht managed to snatch the ball from the sideline and in the rain, but fumbled the pass! Flo tried to get the ball himself, and also failed in the slippery conditions. Then, on the 2nd attempt, Boonyaah grabbed the ball and passed toe Nufflekoff, who ran to the touchline and stalled.

From then in, it became a damage prevention exercise, with Flo blocking everything in sight. We stalled successfully though and took the 1-0 lead happily. Even the RIP on newbie Tribaleskie Fowluten was forgotten.

The Blight have snuck through for their 2nd win in Premier! Thanks for the game Flo, was tough and rough and well played. We both had good and bad luck in stages and on even luck I couldn't predict the outcome.

Votes

#3 – Abhaya - +AG, passing, hitting, dodging…the works.

#2 – Tetsugyu Mindful – He will be remembered as being one of the most threatening players the Blight have played against.

#1 - Tetsugyu Concentration – Just as effective as his stronger counterpart, he was a handful until we parked Nikoliev next to him.

#13 Hakuyu – Dead (RIP)
#15 Tetsugyu Mindful – Dead (RIP)
It was a cold wet day.... Perfect weather for some 'Blood'-bowl.

The game was tight and evely matched, both teams dealing out damage and rolling both well and badly at crucial times.

The Blight started with the ball, and were almost away but a falied blitz left the reciever out in the open... Abhya ran back the ball but couldn't makie it past the desperate norse defence, and thus the half finished 0-0.

The 2nd half was as wet as the first and turned out to be even bloodier. The adpest ran down the right sideline, but the loss of the fearful Tetsugyu Mindful stalled the drive and the Blight recovered the ball and stalled long enought to grind out a well deserved win.

Twhanloes
3pts: Nikoliev 'Shloss!' Sazzeyev - Had a rough patch with the missed blitz in the first half, but played well otherwise both on offense and defense.
2pts: Boonyaah Delecht - One of many Blight with elvish blood he managed to handle the slippery conditions picking up the ball and passing for the winning score.
1pt: Kranksy - This still new ogre was very hit or miss during the game, he spent much of the first half standing around admiring the pretty raindrops. But he deserves credit for the biggest hit in the game, and for ending the career of on the the Adpets Brightest. I used to love kransky... now not so much. ;)
