“SWL Season XVIII - Premier League - Round 6

Our plan in the first half worked to a tee. Luring the norsemen forwards, we were able to force them into scoring in turn 4. With 4 turns to score, and a kick that landed right in Loony Tossa's hands, even the Blitz kickoff wasn't enough to stop an equaliser. We also managed to do a remarkably good job of dealing out the casualties. Half the remaining norsemen were in the KO box, leaving just 4 players to take the pitch in the second half.

One day I'll learn to stall for a 2-1 win when I have the advantage, instead, the fools made a quick 3-turn touchdown. Most of the norsemen came back, making the teams 7 vs 11. So, we still had an advantage, and it should have been enough. But those norsemen sure know how to put up a fight. Desperate dodges all over the place, saw them come ever so close to a touchdown, but, with some fortunate bounces we were able to retain ball control.

Eventually, Nuffle gave up on helping Pat out, and we were able to break away for one final touchdown in turn 16. Disappointing for the Norsemen, but it puts us back in with a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, the elves will collapse in a heap to give us a shot at the title.

A crazy dodging norseman. Molitov, assisted by his team-mates made one hell of a run at the score line, and was probably the player that made us most concerned.

Nikoliev was the go to man when it came to laying down the smack. Despite his niggle, he was in fine form tonight, and dealt out more than his share of blocks.

An up and coming catcher, Viktor was the second key player in the desperate plays to recover the ball in the second half. Naturally, our tacklers were in the wrong places, so we would have been in quite a bit of strife if he'd ever been given the ball.”
