Well what a game! :) This looked a very tough matchup on paper so I decided to spndall my cash and hire The Count, Griff and Zug, with my 2 mng's i was still a little behind on the TS count - but anything could happen!

I recieved first and got off to a good start withmy firstblock causing a mng! it was only to a rokie beastman but perhaps a good sign for the game! I started a slow drive down one flank, happily fouling away until one of my dp's got sent off having caused a couple of KOs. By turn 3 i'd decided gettingtoo bogged down vs so much claw pobably wasn't the best of ideas so with the speed advantage i had switched the ball tothe opposite flank with griff count and a blitzer of mine making up a mini cage far away from any chaos. The chaos slowly scrambled across to cover but they wouldn't be in position to defend for another turn or two. Unfortunately i miscounted squares and wasn't willing to make a gfi or leave a 1db on the count so took the score in Turn 4/5.

The chaos then had 3/4 turns to try to equalise. They failed to gain much forward momentum in the first couple of turns and were then forced to cage down a flank. However a T7 sneaky hypngaze from the count left a 1db on the ball for the supporting Griff, and although he started with a skull managed a POW on the rr. The ball scattered next to 2 chaos so the humans put one tz on the ball and decided to, rather riskily, send the other nearby catcher forward into scoring range.

Having 2 ag5 on a chaos team hardly seems fair :P and the ag5 beastman easily recovered and dodged out of the tz to hand off to the ag5 CW, all that was left to do was make 1 2+ dodge and a pass to a beastman up the pitch to score. Unluckily the CW snaked his dodge and left the ball completely in the open. All the humans had to do was 2+ pick it up and hand off to the catcher whoneeded 2 gfi's to go 2-0 up! Equally unluckily the humans snaked the pick up and we went into half time at 1-0.

The start of the second half and it was still 11 vs 11. The chaos recieved the ball and knocked down the los, allowing a beastman to down the str6 count who was not fully protected - a gang foul on him and a failed regen put him out of the game. The chaos then started a long painful drive sending most of the humans to the KO box. They equalised T8.

So the humans had a shot at a OTS and with griff (ma8 + sprint) and a weak antiOTS defence i was pretty confident, it only needed 2 pushes and with no defence i was sure i could get at least 3. However the kick managed to land in the square i was planning to push the beastman into - not ideal! I decided to go ahead with the push and hope the scatter would go ok - so i rolled the 2db on the beastman pow and skull, rr, to still nopush - thegame goes to overtime!

Thankfully i get randomly choosen to recieve - as i would have no chance otherwise- By this time i am starting to get short on players and deicide it is time to act like an elf. I blitz a hole in the wall ofchaos and send my catchers though, along with anyone else who looked like they could catch a ball. The chaos marked up well but i'd left griff on the halfway line and with no tackle covering one of the flanks i was confident he'd be able to hold on to it. He blitzed his way through and got free onthe far side of the pitch, and the remaining linos strugged across to form a semi-cage. Now all that was leftto do was pass griff the ball, I can't remember if the passwas a 2+ or 3+ but it didn't matter as my thrower choked under the pressure and rolled snakes.

With the ag5 beastman on the prowl he quickly snapped up the ball and punted it up the pitch. Things didn't look good, all the humans were in the chaos half and the chaos were rushing toward the abandoned ball deep in the human half. It was now that the humans again loked towards Griff to save the day. He got upout of the mud and sprinted back towards the ball, leaping over one beastman he took a 1db to try and push the montser ag5 beastman into the crowd, he could then sprint back and cover the ball from the surroundng chaos. unfortunately he rolled skull,rr,skull and from there the chaos could recover the ball and cage up - the game was over.

Or so i thought.... when moving his cage to the edge leijoet accidentally walked his ball carrier over the TD line in turn7 of OT. I had another chance at an OTS to draw. However this time i was very short on players and no longer had griff. i needed 3 pushes and only had 7(? i think) players. Again there wasn't much OTS defence so i had freedom to push where i wanted and managed to get the first 2 - unfortunately i only had enough players to get the third push if my thrower could retrive the ball andcome and support a push, however the kick fell deep enough so i couldn't get th thrower close enough - the game was over 2-1 chaos.

Thanks for a great game leijonet - and best of luck in the final :)
