Guns and Bullets have finally got off the mark in what is likely to be too little too late. Their second victory in what they hope to make three consecutive wins was had against the foul Something is Rotting.

The coach, one abhorrent Unstoffe, often referred to as Unstoffable by the G&B coach, had already engineered many victories over the G&B coach throughout their careers, their Voodoo magic bringing out the worst in him during their encounters. Today was to be no different.

G&B received first and lined their Dwarves up against the foul Rotters, however proving highly ineffective, but at least plucking up the courage to push the beasts. A Bull Centaur made a blitz and fell as he tried to move that bit further to get back into cover.

From there on, SiR made a game of it, pouring numbers forward, acquiring the ball and passing it back deep, the super beastman, Wide-Chapp'd Rascal, had made his presence known.

Hthark was in range, and despite a minor hiccup as he tried to dodge by a Rotter, managed to sack the ball carrier. A Hobbo ran in to take the ball but another Bull Centaur didn’t fair so well, and failed to break the tackle of a lowly beastman to provide any reasonable defence.

SiR quickly reclaimed the ball and ran it back over the half way line, them too not getting enough numbers back to provide cover. Again the bestmen were sacked and he ball spilled loose.

The Super beastman was called in once again, leaping from the ground, dodging around a Hobbo, scooping the ball up from under the Hobbo’s nose and tossing it down field, the spectacular move thwarted only by the newly positioned receiving beastman’s failure to catch it.

SiR seemed to be relying on the Beast’s ability to hold the neighbouring Bull Centaur in place, and up to now it had done a grand job of just that. The Dorfs however managed to manoeuvre it away from the Bull Centaur and the lowly beastman was blitzed to the ground, G&B scooped up the ball… finally enjoying a spell of possession as they charged the length of the field unmolested.

It was only in the dying moments of the half when the Hobbo was tied up by a lowly beastman where disaster struck, an otherwise simple block of a BC against a Beastman saw the Bull Centaurs toppled, completing an abysmal half in which the Bull Centaurs had produced little of any worth.

The second half, and things seemed to pick up as G&B caught SiR unawares and quickly rearranged their defence. With all the SiR effort being attracted to the heavily stacked LOS, G&B managed to pour a few men down the flanks to pressure the ball while Unstoppable hung back to mop up anyone who made a break. G&B started to see the balance tipping in their favour as SiR’s players made mistakes or left the field. The unmovable, Muthagroth Flintlock, managed to remove the Super Beastman’s cover and tie him up. Wide-Chapp'd Rascal attempted to dodge away and seek cover but fell hard, leaving the ball exposed.

G&B made a swoop for it and collected the ball, only to be sacked moments later by a Rotter. With support now on hand though, the two SiR players that were pressuring the ball were removed from it and on the third attempt, obviously still dizzy from the Rotter’s blow, the sure handed Hobbo managed to pick up the ball and dash to make the score!

G&B now face the Power of Lingerie, desperate to claim 5 pts and then hope that Kung Pow can defeat SiR in order that they may make the playoffs.

====

It was a good, tough, game, almost thrown away by me snaking with the BC in the first turn, stupidly before moving some of my players that didn’t require dice rolls first.
This seems to be the way I am playing lately.

The game was marred by Snakes, all of which seemed to be made by my BCs in the first half, ruining my hard fought TD… although a 3+ dodge at that point seemed like a big ask anyway.

In contrast, Unstoffe seemed to suffer almost as bad in the second half, the PD several double skulls and the failed dodge with his super beastman all culminating in his eventual loss.

First victory over Unstoffe in 5 games, so that’s something!
GG mate, and gl in your final game.
