“Albion Regional Challenge 09/09

It has not been a great OCC month, being booted in the first round of all three tournaments entered, but at least I finished off with a very exciting match. The Albion Regional saw dead on dead action with two teams that fought hard and showed big determination in winning the match. It must also be very rare for two undead teams to meet and not a single foul being exchanged. The crowd was very rowdy, especially for being mostly made up of corpses, and the match saw two pitch invasions that tore down 6 players for Rotten Gothem and 1 RIP and 1 niggle as a result of crowd surfs.

Rotten Gothem Resurrected started on offense, but was halted due to a pitch invasion and never really got going. In the 2nd half they managed to break the World Conquerors offense and scored late. They looked to be cruising to victory when they managed to blitz the ball carrying ghoul, but the scatter was the worst possible and the opponents managed to tie the match. The final offensive push for Rotten Gothem was halted by yet another pitch invasion.

All in all it was a very fun and exciting match though. I got kind of screwed over in OT with 2 blitzes on the ball carrier ending in failed GFI's on the last move, but that didn't take away from a good experience.
