#2 Balavan – Dead (RIP)
#8 Feanir – Dead (RIP)

The Dragons came into this one with high expectations despite having lost this matchup last season. It started out well, with our first block KOing the blitzer Grogan. The Bucs responded quickly with a blitz from Bruno causing a serious injury, thankfully the apo wasn't drunk yet and quickly stepped in to heal Inivire. The damage continued the second turn though as a two assist foul killed the other elf blitzer, Balavan. Ignoring the losses the Dragons score in turn 3 taking full advantage of Lindir's nerves of steel while in the midst of a scrum.

Setting up their offense the Buccaneers outnumber the Dragons 11-9, and are showing signs that they plan on trying to score with the ogre Sargund. The first two LOS blocks each knock out an elf. Then Grogan, having just woke up from his first turn KO and still not fully there, pushes a line elf back into a human lino that was set up as an assist for later on. Unfortunately Sargund didn't notice Grogan's mistake and went in for the multiblock blitz. With only 1 die now, the elves stood up to the charge and planted that ogre on his butt. The rest of the team quickly swooped in on the unprotected ball.

The Bucs recovered and popped the ball free but Greg 'Da Clunka' couldn't grab the loose ball even with his sure hands. Lindir strolled over and showed Greg how to handle the rock, and after a couple more turns the half ends 2-0 Dragons.

Second half starts with the Buccaneers receiving the kickoff. They move the ball downfield the first turn, but don't set up a proper cage. Feanir quickly moves in to knock the ball loose and recovers the bouncing ball in the middle of the pack. Coach mwilli contemplated telling him to get the heck out of there, but kept his mouth shut. Feanir would soon pay the price for this. Bruno, the Buc team captain, immediately came blitzing through and laid out Faenir with a forearm to the head, killing him instantly. As the elves stood in shock at the sight of one of their star catchers laid out like that, the Bucs quickly grabbed the ball and ran for the goal. Blitzer Duvadal was so excited at the prospect of scoring (and getting his second skill) that he failed to notice that his shoe had come untied and fell over at the goalline.

Turion ran over and grabbed the loose ball, but only ended up getting shoved out of bounds for his efforts. Thankfully the ball ended up with one of the Dragons fans that make the trek down to the Blood Sea to watch the match, and was promptly thrown back in directly to an elf standing at midfield. Unfortunately for that elf, he was immediately surrounded. He handed off to the remaining st4 catcher, and the team tried to build up some defense around him, but Inivire came up with the snake eyes while dodging, so the catcher was left out in the open. A blitz took down Lindir, the "Purple Bomber" grabbed the ball and gave it to Sargund for the TD.

The elves, even though they were only able to line up 8, weren't done yet. After the kickoff they had a chance to get the ball in the hands of a blodge lineelf deep in the Bucs end of the field; he just needed to get past the ogre on his way. Two 1's on his dodge (and a KO on hitting the ground) later, the Bucs were looking to grab the ball and tie up the match. Bruno gets his third cas of the match as he BH's the thrower holding the ball, and Greg comes in to grab the ball but fails the dodge to get open. This opens the door for the elves, but they immediately roll another 1 in return, handing control back to the Bucs. Da Chunka tosses the ball over to Duvadal, who learns his lesson and doesn't try to push it going for the endzone. The elves have no chance to stop him, so they back off and he walks across next turn for the tie.

The two deaths hurt the team some, but they come out with just enough money to replace the catcher. The fans of the Dragons sure do love them, despite the second half failures, the team fan factor continues to improve. Coach mwilli has vowed to go to the deepest darkest parts of the internets to post a bounty on Bruno after this showing. Or hopefully the two teams will see each other again down the line and there will be a little something extra in the paycheck of the player that 'takes care of'' Bruno.

Buccaneers fumbll and bumble there way through the first half and give up two scores for their troubles...

But the Bucs blow back in the second half and rally for the tie.

They just layed into the elves and wish they did not blow it the first half....another win gone bye bye.
