Donte Whitner and Aaron Maybin came to the conclusion that one of them should coach from the bench for this game... just to try it out. Yeah. Wrong day to try that out, ya old goats.

Buffalo was prepared to give up handicaps. They knew of Vernon Gholston and his ball handling abilities. They knew of the prowess of Wayne Hunter. Both of them were carefully watched. The Billy Goats were even prepared to play a more caging and conservative style of play against the ball-hawking tactics of Gangrene... alas. They showed THEIR balls... they took OUR balls... they dangled THEIR balls next to OUR balls and their balls were bigger.

Ou first defeat this season against this squad was a fluke... nicely capitalized on by New York, but a fluke loss. This one was an all out retooling of our rectum.. (Rectum?... it nearly KILLED 'em...) Buffalo was reduced to making hollow efforts to injure the nearest elf because we were constantly outpaced by them in any area regarding the ball. Even a flawlessly played game would've been hard pressed to beat these guys... and we were far from flawless. We were able to niggle Vernon, so thank us for that NBFL. Aside from that... [shrug / sigh]... at this point Buffalo is going to be happy if they become the team nobody wants to play in the first round of the playoffs, cuz a bye does not appear to be under our control.

Well played, Hof... damn your elves. This is why teams like mine get a reputation for bashing - cuz it's often the only thing to do after we're left in the dust looking at our own grubby mitts that used to be holding the ball.

#1 Curtis Martin – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#3 Dennis Byrd – Dead (RIP)
#9 Vernon Gholston – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#9 Vernon Gholston – Smashed Knee (NI)
Gangrene extended its run to 6 matches without conceding a TD, and scored their 100th TD. This was largely thanks to Vernon Gholston doing his AG6 annoying-elf routine. He finally succumbed to the many attempts to injure him and picked up a niggle (after apo saved him from death in the first half).

It could easily have gone Buffalo's way, but they seemed unable to do much more than KO elves in the first half (apart from the foul RIP). The injuries did come eventually, but too late to allow the goats to do anything other than bleat their way home in tears...

GG Jeffro. Always a pleasure to play you :-)
