“When things don’t go your way, in Bloodbowl and in life, it is important to keep things in perspective.

What started as a difficult game for us became an outright trial, following a failed niggle, It Wasn’t Me, and a thrown rock. We battled on with only 9 players, possibly not using our Wizard as effectively as we might but for want of a few 2+ rolls it so could have been a much different result.

The first half was all Quod. Bashing and pushing his way forward, he generously scored giving us two turns to equalise. Despite getting very close, a failed GFI cost us.

We managed to score in the second half, only to have Quod slip through our defences, despite the pouring rain making getting the ball difficult. As our numbers further dwindled, we tried like hell to cause a turnover but Nuffle did not favour us. BH’s on dodges and failed RR’d blitzes typified our day.

Finally, Quod again was generous, giving us a one-turn-touchdown chance, but we failed our pickup of the ball. 2-1 the final result.

Seething initially, I have since tried to apply some perspective to the game. Did we lose any players? No. Was the scoreline terrible? No. Sure, we lost a FF point and only got 10k, but we passed both ageing rolls for skills and have a full lineup again.

And finally….having seen the aftermath of OldBugman’s return to form against bobsarmy, and Quods game vs Tomay....we count ourselves probably a little lucky.
