We took to the pitch still giddy from our lucky victory in the first game of the season...but across the pitch were 11 hungry wood elves - the acrobatics and skill made us whimper - it was a frightening sight to behold. Then the game began...it did not take long for us to take control - knocking the ball free and surfing a few elves, knocking others out - quickly we had control and could have run out the clock in the first half, but pushed to score instead. This proved a poor choice as the elves struck back, a long bomb past a leaping interceptor to a wood elf marked by another norse was complete and whooosh...it was 1-1. Still 2 turns remained and we pushed forward quickly - some chain pushes allowed us to score and it was 2-1 halftime score.
The second half was more of the same, we had numbers 10 or 11 to about 7 on the field most of the time and abused that advantage - two of our lineman got a chance to play quarterback and our newest recruit - a catcher delivered on his promise by picking up 2 TDs. In the end, we pulled away for a 4-1 victory. The game proved important as 7 of our players developed new skills from the game.
Thanks and well played Wazzu - now get back to partying!!”
