WIL Season XX - final game
It's a relegation zone playoff for the two teams here, and we're still recovering from our midseason destruction while the humans have hired Zara.. uh oh. And to make things worse 2 of our 3 niggles fail to turn up, including our STR7 mummy.. disaster!!
We have just 10 players for the game now as they kick off first. We start well with our DP badly hurting a lineman on T1 and on T3 manage to POW over zara and KO her with another foul! We run the ball into their half but their strip ball thrower 1d blitzes it and the crowd throw it to the half way line. Their STR4 blitzer steals it but we quickly recover. They niggle a zombie (regens!) and we swap the ball to the other side, then run through in strength. T7 and we try and get as many players as possible within reach of the endzone, and manage to BH a guard blitzer. They surround our +AGI ghoul with the ball but don't try and blitz him (no tackle) and on T8 we BH a lineman then blitz through with a 3+ and 2+ dodge to score!
Zara survives two rolls vs secret weapon and the 2nd half starts with us kicking off w/ 10 players vs 9. They push Zara hard early on, trying to remove some undead but fortunately our mummy withstands the pressure and on T3 having tackled her over put in our first foul... fracturing her skull!! The run the ball into our half, but we can dodge blitz for 2d and knock the ball free on T4! It looks good with half their team stunned, and their ogre choosing that moment to bone head.... but a STR4 blitzer blitzes his way to near our endzone and then a lineman makes 3 4+ dodges/pickup, a 3+ dodge, two GFIs and a quick pass later it's in the blitzers hands! Disaster!
We just need one GFI to get a 2d blitz in... but it's double 1 and they can easily score! 1-1 and we have 3 turns to try and win it now with 10 vs 7 players. We quickly KO a lineman and foul their ogre for a niggle (and a sending off); they counter by KO'ing a ghoul: 8 vs 5 now. T7 and we rush the ball carrier and all our wights + ghouls forward into scoring distance. Their best bet is a 1d blitz with their strip ball thrower.. but he fails the dodge and we make it 2-1!
