#1 Medici – Dead (RIP)
My first ever League game was did not start off well. Two players were KO'd on the first turn of the game - one of whom did not wake up through four recovery rolls despite the induced Babes. The very bad news came a couple turns later, though, when my Werewolf was blocked by the opposing Chaos Ogre and was killed, failing his regeneration roll. Down by 5 players on the pitch by turn 5, I was able to get a 1d blitz onto his ball-carrier, and while I only got a pushback, that at least forced him into the end zone to score. I was not able to make anything of the end of the first half though, and luckily Catalyst32 missed his pass roll thanks to the sun to not score another TD.

Interesting note: my first six armour breaks were three KOs, a seriously injured and two killed. I did make two of my three regen rolls, but failing on the Werewolf does hurt. One of them was entirely my fault as well, though - I reflexively clicked to use Stand Firm when I really should have accepted the push.

The second half started off with a Perfect Defence. Some luck allowed me to mostly push his line back, though his big guys stayed in contact. He spread his forces to attack my flanks, but this backfired when his centrally placed Ogre fell over after failing his Loner roll, leaving a hole in his lines. I was able to hand the ball off to a Wight who ran it forwards. Further luck came my way when one of Catalyst32's team members failed a block for the second straight turn, this time causing the niggling injury that was to be my only casualty of the game. I scored a couple turns later, setting up the last drive of the game. A blitz threatened to give me some momentum, but instead my Wight knocked himself out trying to block the Dark Elf. The Pacters broke through my lines, but a couple blocks and a risky series of moves set up a blitz that knocked the ball loose. A 1 was rolled to end my opponent's turn on a 2+ dodge, and I was able to retrieve the ball and move it upfield, but the pass attempt to my remaining Wight slipped out of his hands and my chance to score was lost. The Pacters made a valiant effort, but were unable to retrieve the ball, and the game ended in a tie.

Overall I had fun with the game, and were it not for the failed regen roll on my most expensive player I would think it a success. As it is, I face a long rebuilding process. Good luck to my opponent in the future!
