“Victory! Our first match against the ancient Slann race. For the play-by-play, there's the replay. What I give you here is our personal Doctrine report.
What went wrong and what went right?
This was not a very simple match. Slann, whenever they are not beaten and broken soon, can hit you anytime, anywhere, and do amazing things with the ball and their positioning. In essence, the game was a simple back-and-forth with the Doctrine scoring first, Bongbongbong scoring the equaliser, and the Doctrine scoring again in the second half, leaving us with the victory after the failed one-turner attempt.
In practice, however, the game was a continual struggle for ball possession, with directed hits to ball carriers and important players, and with a lot of passing as well - 6 completions in total! This could definitely have gone the way of the Slann as well, and we're glad we took a thrilling victory home.
Lesson of the Match?
There is no safety against Slann.
Best Doctrine Performance:
There were many good performances. The Jester took out a STR4 player, and hit a whopping 10 blocks, Loh Psidid completed two important completions... But the award goes to Spikkels McRash, for being an unexpected TD scorer! ”
