The Dingleberries first venture into the major league was a promising match against another new team, "Soul of Sindar". High Elves also looking to make their mark on the league tables.

The first half saw the Dingleberries kicking off and preparing to receive the Elves initial assault. A failed catch by High Elf Blitzer Elfalas allowed Bongo to make a grab for the ball. However, being so small, Bongo obviously had some trouble actually picking the ball up and failed to do so five times over the following turns. Siol saw the Halfling scrambling to maintain a grip on the ball and smugly ran in to show Bongo how to play like a pro, only to fumble the ball attempting to pass it three spaces to the endzone.

The second half saw the arrival of Neville, the Halfling's second Treeman who had forgotten to turn up for the start of the game. The Elves continued their push on the Dingleberries' lines, scrumming up around the ball, trying to knock over anyone they could. The Halflings managed to dodge most of the Elves' blocks, and Yippy even managed to break away from the pack to run off towards the endzone as fast as his little chubby legs would let him. Obviously this wasn't fast enough and the Elves easily surrounded him. Seeing that his fate was sealed, Yippy lobbed the ball forward in an heroic effort, only for Bongo, who had snuck away from the opposition, to fumble the catch in the most spectacular fashion.

The final few turns saw the High Elves do what they do best, running down the Halfling flank and delivering a pass forward into Silbreth's arms. A last effort to stop the touchdown by Limbo was brave but ultimately stupid and Silbreth slipped past to give the Elves the victory in the dying seconds.

Although defeated in their first game, the Halflings were pleased with the result and even more pleased with contents of their dugout's complimentary mini-bar. Fizzy pop and mud pies all round! :D

***
No complaints about dice rolls in this game, although the Elves did seem to get a sudden surge of double POWS late in the game. I didn't mind this though as earlier when a single Halfling was ganged up on, I witnessed the awesome sight of a "triple skulls" rolled by FischerKing (with no rerolls either).

A great game to learn the Halfling ropes in. No SI's or kills (for either team), a non-power team to play against and a friendly opponent. Thanks to FischerKing for a great game.
