The Norse chose to receive and only got 2 actions into their turn when failed dauntless through RR caused a turnover right away. Not to be outdone, the Pact ended their turn early after a big guy failure and then a skull/both down RR into skull/both down. The competition for least actions taken continues as the Norse snow troll rolls both down/both down, rr fails, on the second roll of their frenzy. The Pact return by a Wild-Animal fail on their blitz, so the ball sits by the norse. They do manage to get a TZ on it. The Norse push him off the ball and collect it, ending their turn with a successfully thrown bomb when he was trying to fail. The Pact knock the ball carrier down with a 1d block, but end their turn with a 1d skull. The Norse end their turn early with a both down/skull from the snow troll, and the Pact end their turn early with a skull/skull/both down from their troll. The Norse fail a GFI, then the Pact fail a RS roll before rolling both down/both down/skull from the mino, hurting him enough that the apoth had to patch him up. Again, not to be outdone, a berserker rolls skull/skull and gets patched up by the apothecary as well. The Pact knock the ball free and try to collect it with an AG2 marauder, which fails, then the Norse blitz with their snow troll, who rolls both down/skull. At this point, the Pact are in a position to pick up the ball with AG4 and take 1 GFI to get the first score on turn 7. They opt not to wait for turn 8 to have an extra chance at KOs and to get the 2 secret weapons out of the game.

A foul takes out the mino for the second injury this game.

The second half starts 8-10 due to the Pact going 1-5 on KO rolls. They knock some norse down and fail the AG4 pickup, opting not to RR. The norse run through the lines, making it 7-10 in the meantime. The Pact get a receiver free, pick up the ball and throw it, but fumble the pass through RR. The Norse pick it up and run it in for a score.

Pact then go 0/3 on RRs, and are again 7-10 on players. They pick up the ball and do nothing. The norse move everyone into contact and make it 6-9 after a failed dodge. A big guy fails BH, then a dodge fails making it 5-9. The Norse choose not to take the 2gfi to hit the ballcarrier, but do manage to get 2 KOs making it 3-9. The pact make a desperation play, blitzing the ogre free and throwing it to him, when he catches it. The norse don't care, as they have 3 times the players on the field. They knock another guy out and then blitz the ogre, knocking the ball free and stunning him. The norse try one last play to knock the ball away, but fail on the first dodge. The Norse have no problem picking the ball up and running for the win.

A very, very strange match.

Neither coach seemed to have their head in the game at first, both making rookie mistakes and rolling dangerous dice before moving players, but Nuffle was kind to both and skulled them both out for the first couple/few turns each, so neither team actually changed position much.

Then both coaches sobered up (a bit), so actually tried to jockey for position while the skulls and snakes kept raining down on both sides.

And while Joplin got the upper hand at first, the Casualty dice for Lindesfarne first caught fire, then went white hot, and soon they were simply outmuscling Joplin, and by the final unchallenged Turn 16 score Joplin had only 2 remaining players on the pitch, both down and recovering from Stuns.

Despite that, they still outblocked the 'Sons, 27:23, a pathetic showing for two "bashy" teams, and had no Permanents but also had had no KO's wake up all game long, which hints at the sort of chaos both teams were suffering under.

Not a good showing by either coach, and the 'Sons can take neither credit nor pride in the win, but will celebrate all players surviving just the same.
