The last contest saw the Warriors of Valhalla come through unscathed. This contest they were pitted against the might and fury of some fierce horse enthusiasts. An early blitz put the Thirteen on their heels and they never recovered. Losing the ball, they had to play defense but managed to get it back. With time running out, a wizard made sure that Skeld did not score on T8. Second half the Thirteen played fierce defense, but twas not enough to stop National from scoring. They did force the score with 2 turns left, so enough time for Skeld to earn his vengence. At first the fates abandoned the Thirteen as a block had to be rerolled to get a push, but the pass and catch came off perfectly. The fates hiccuped again on the blitz, needing a push and getting a skull/pow; but Skeld would not be denied and dodged through a TZ twice, then into the open and made a gfi to tie it up in regulation (6 5 4 5). The fates continued to favor the Thirteen and gave us the ball. Neither team had any rerolls left but careful play on our part metriculated the ball downfield and the last minute heroics by National came up empty (1 on a gfi to blitz).

This was a great match against a worthy opponent, and could have gone either way. We're both gonna be sore for our next match but the Valhalla Thirteen will visit the medicine woman and be ready for whomever nuffle sets in our path.
