Schmaurus' was short their Krox (niggled and retired last game) and their +Ag Skink, made worse by losing another Saurus KO'd Turn 4 (and not waking up). But the Rotten Walkers were handicapped by lack of team skills, compounded by only 2 RR and very uncooperative dice in the form of Skulls and also Both-Downs that favored the Lizards but left RW w/ no RR by Turns 5 and 3. Worse still, early unlucky Injury rolls, most significantly losing a Warrior BH'd Turn 2, meant the position game was soon lost, and the bash only became worse, until, with only 6 Nurgle on the field Turn 5, Schmaurus' was able to safely hand off to a Saurus for the stall and Turn 8 score, 1-0.

A j-man Skink had been BH'd and the Saurus slept on, and the Turn 8 kick changed nothing except allowing the 3 KO'd Nurgle to wake up, so that left 5 Sauri & 4 Skinks lined up against the full Nurgle roster less one Warrior for the 2nd half.

Both teams gained a RR - 4 for Schmaurus', 3 for Rotten Warriors - but early Skulls on Turns 1 and 2 followed by Both Down quickly drained all the RW RR's. During these turns they had pushed the cage up across the LoS, then fallen back behind a ragged screen to change sides of the field. The BT Saurus saw a chance, and 4+'d to find a Both-Down on the no-skill ballcarrier. RW failed the GFI they needed to try to clear the DT-SS marker, and Skinks grabbed the ball and scampered to safety to end Turn 4. One Pestigor broke through to pressure, cutting short any attempt to score via Saurus and stall to game end, forcing the Turn 7 score, 2-0.

The Turn 16 kick was uneventful on both sides of the ball, late Perfect Defense helping avoid the worst of the LoS bash.
