“OLC XXXIII Heavyweight Challenge: final.

It all started with a MNG and a RIP apoth RIP on the first two blocks of the game and it would only go downhill from there. Nevertheless uncareful positioning as a result of an ejection by the ref (which caused only a ko) allowed a 2d blitz on the ballcarrier in turn 1 by the Avengers' ST4 star wardancer who managed to steal the ball. We couldn't protect him very well though and lost the ball again next turn. Meanwhile orcs were ripping apart elves on all sides. By turn 2 we had only 5 players left. Our ST4 lineman managed a blitz pushing an orc on the ball, but the ball scattered right into the hands of the orc thrower! The mauling continued and by the end of the first half only 1 elf was still standing on the pitch. Nevertheless with only 2 players in turn 8 we managed a 1d blitz on the ball kicking it loose again. When next turn a reroll was spent by the orcs on a double skulls we had some hope that the orcs would somehow fail to score, but a blitzer picked up the ball and ran in the touchdown.

Some players managed their ko roll, giving us 4 elves to start the second half, including the star wardancer. Perfect defense on the kick-off further complicated the situation, so that the only option left was leaping over the defense and running to the end line. Which was exactly what we did, but having spent a reroll in the process we didn't risk a gfi to stay out of reach. The orcs managed 4 gfi's to 2d blitz the wardancer who ended up badly hurt. With only three players we held on to the ball until turn 4 when we lost it permanently to the orcs who easily managed a second touchdown for the 2-0 final score.
