“As expected, it was quite a bloody war. Worms the wight managed to SI an ogre, but ARRnold's skilled apothecary stitched him right back up again. The undead got the TV trim they were looking for when Spindleskanks the ghoul was killed by a flying snotling, but he was quickly replaced as his understudy Hannibal the Cannibal rolled an agility increase after the match. The Bonesmen also dropped a re-roll to lower their TV even further, since they were a tad bloated from having four. Thanks for the match :)”
Usually when facing the undead, your in for a long slow grind... but what a fun match this turned out to be.
The first half was typical, casualties weren't happening and we couldn't get at the ball easily so might as well try and surf ghouls and force an early score. The Undead score and we get our shot at the TTM score, but it doesn't work.
The second half is where the fun starts. The Ogres charge forward with Douglas Quaid confidently handling the ball. Snotlings foul anything that falls over and with a bit of effort, we even the score in turn 5.
A failed pickup gives the Ogres an opportunity to toss a snot downfield and the toss is a bit too accurate with snotling Thorgrim landing right on the ghoul Spindleshanks caving in his skull (RIP). Thorgrim doesn't look so good and is carted off the field to recover also.
Unfortunately, the Ogres couldn't convert but the mood was a good one as they gave it their best shot in the dying moments of the match.
