#5 Douglas Winston – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
A very intense playoff game between 2 seasoned teams, who happened to clash many times in the past, thus knowing each other very well, and also familiar with the playoffs.

Short summary is a tale of 2 halves, first one was dominated by the Foxes, while the second was dominated by the Patriots. Then 1turning decided the game, Patriots linework, balling unit, and Patton made the difference.

Of course the short summary does not tell the whole story, as both teams heavily contested the ball while defending, so even though we saw 2 perfect stalls, there were plenty of actions.
Patriots tried to cause injuries with pile on early, with limited success, while the Foxes did the same with fouling, with limited success. Patriots tried to contain the baller by Patton, while Foxes tried to use their superior strength and stout ogre. The flaw in the latter plan was that ogres sometimes fail, so did M'Grash K'Thragsh.

Overall it was a lackluster blocking performance by both teams, only 2 CAS through 102 blocks. Really pathetic. But we are used to seeing this in the playoffs, where players and coaches care much more about ball, and positioning, than about attrition.

I think the real MVP of the game should be Patton, who was stout both offensively and defensively, helping a surf on offense, giving a nice effort to try and stop the stall of Foxes, scoring the 1turn, and also preventing the opponent from 1turning.

On to the Classics!
