“After such a stellar season, the Vanguard drop form in their last two games, worrying signs for the Premiership season ahead.

On a happier note, at least the downward spiral is at an end. They can only go up from here. This was an awful game which saw the Vanguard down 4-0 on the scoreline and 3-0 on the casualty count by half time! With only one from eight turns without a disastrous turnover, it was a tragic comedy!

The only performers for the Vanguard this game were there their lucky charm, Blind Navigator, and the new lass on the block, Hopp'n M'Broomstick. Blind Navigator showed why he was worthy of a spot on the Pro Bowl team with a flawless game (unfortunately not so much can be said for the elves catching the ball on the other end of his passes!). Hopp'n had a typically robust game - always getting into position, but alas the rest of the team was either too clumsy or outnumbered thanks to the brutal first half to really give much assistance.

Plat made good use of his fortune. Is good to watch someone play such a deft positional game and it is something the Vanguard need to improve on. He made the lack of a tackler look like nothing worse than the mild annoyance of a halfling in the background who won't shutup about his donuts.

Someone who can coach the teams at Snorriheim on how to bash elves! Almost invariably the lads at home get outclassed and more importantly outbashed by anything that even looks like a daffodil wearing wood elf! In fact, just before this much vaunted matchup, the coach roped in the new lads in qpool (my necro's - Artesian Apparitions) to play a game against a wood elf outfit. All in order to give the Vanguard some much needed observational experience on playing wood elves....But alas! It seems they picked up all the wrong tips! 4-1 cas against in the Necro game and 3-0 cas here! And this is just another chapter in what is becoming an epic saga for the teams from Snorriheim.

Needless to say this assistant coach job will pay very well indeed! ”
