“A fun game against a fun coach.

It was always going to be hard for my opponent when Nuffle served me up just about the perfect set of handicaps:

Extra Training
Bad Press
Doom & Gloom
Palmed Coin
Smelling Salts

And then I made my 4 niggle rolls and had my full roster as well. My opponent had some really bad luck, eg, his first turn was a block (pow) then a pick up followed by a fumbled pass (failed RR) near the line of scrimmage. I swamped the area with the ball and some nice bounces resulted in my player catching it and soon I was leading 1-0.

My opponent scored a one turn TD with his MA10 Sprint Catcher and it looked like it was game on at 1-1! However, my opponent had a bad turn at 1-2 down when he used a RR to try and knock my player over (as I had Diving Tackle and Sidetep) and then rolled a 1 to dodge early in the drive. This allowed me to steal the ball and take a 3-1 lead into half time.

Second half the Falcons started on offence and soon were up 4-1.

The Wildcats who now had three players badly hurt, including their Str 4 Wardancer had more bad luck in setting up a possible score. Firstly, they did an un-necessary dodge (could have leaped diagonal instead of straight across and avoided all tackle zones) and they rolled the obligatory 1 to leave only one scoring option. Secondly, on the next turn , yet another double skulls ate up a RR, and then their pass got intercepted (5+)! Falcons score and take an unbeatable 5-1 lead.

The Wildcats then had more bad luck when they managed to make all the difficult rolls (3+ dodges) to set up a one turn TD only to roll snake eyes (failing Sure Feet RR) as their catcher crossed into the end zone!

The Falcons recovered the ball deep and threw it upfield but dropped the catch near the line of scrimmage. However, they continued to control all the dice rolls as they intercepted the Wildcat's TD pass attempt (target roll 6)! The ball was taken upfield and the Falcons scored yet again.

With that, the Falcons trio of Legends and their other Str 4 Witch went to take early showers to start the post match celebrations early whilst the rest of the team put on some decent but not all out defensive pressure to force the Wildcats into earning their 2nd TD.

The Wildcats got their score and Nuffle then punished the Falcons for being so arrogant with a roll of 1 for winnings and a 1 for FF!!!

Anyways, it was definately a very fun match, even though my opponent had some awful runs of luck at critical times. Eg snake eyes on his pass near the line of scrimmage on turn 1. Pitch invasion stunning one of mine, stunning five of his players. Rolling snake-eyes to score TD 2. Getting intercepted twice out of two attempts (5+ and 6+ needed).

Topper had no chance in this game really as the Falcons racked up both 100 wins and 500 TDs this match. Nuffle was clearly aware of these milestones coming up and rigged all the rolls to ensure the Falcons had an on pitch party in achieving these records!

However, at the end of the day, no one was maimed and no one lost any FF and we both had some laughs so it was a good result for both overall.
