High pressure game for both teams as they began languishing in the middle of the table. A win to keep their premiership hopes alive, and a draw/loss would put them on the dangerous road to relegation.

Soft 'n' Fluffy are a damn sight 'arder than last time the Vanguard met them when there was little the orcs could do to stop the blodgers. Now Johnson comes to the fray with diving tackle, an elite squad of bobs hits the scrimmage line, a frenzying blitzer prowls the fence and no less than three ag4 linemen to make those elven plays! What a team. What a challenge.

And things looked bleak for the Vanguard early on - South Warden niggled for the third time in six games since he got his injury, and the first turn drive came undone after the blitz double skulled and the lads failed their dodging. They must be getting old - take some time to warm up now.

The orcs hit hard, and there was nought we could do but retreat. Some difficult hits got us the ball back and we retreated, drew the orcs in and swung right for one of the hardest four turn tries we've ever had to get. Had that drive not worked out, it might have been a completely different game.

The orcs drove down the field in return and gave us a couple of risky chances. The second one paid off with the elforcs trying (but unsuccessfully) to steal the show as they fell on some bad luck. Must have demoralised the green machine, as the second half caught them lead footed, failing a pickup and having a crucial throw intercepted.

Three nil and the game was up, but once the pressure was off, the green unit started showing some form and some moves worthy of a prem outfit. A deft handoff to the Bob Duncan and there was little the elves could do to stop the orcs only try. To add to that, Hardaway grabbed an intercept in the final seconds of the game to spoil a Vanguard walkover!

Good luck to the boys in green Sp00n! Can't help but be a little biased towards them :)

3pts: #3 Johnson
Could not get away from this elf nemesis. Diving tackle on a Bob is the bomb. He just needs tackle now.

2pts: #7 Hardaway
Surprised me as he came charging out of the blocks to threaten crowdpushes. Survived a push himself and then grabbed a stylish intercept at the end to let the orcs finish on a high note.

1pt: #1 Duncan
Grabbed the handoff with some finesse and ran in the orcs only try. Well deserved.

The elves were far too good for the orcs today.
Coach Snorri will go far this season with a few more perfomances like that.

3) Storm Warden - Nice touchdown that buried the orcs chances

2) Hopp'n M'Broomstick - Caused a costly turnover with a superb intercept

1) Blind Navigator - Slick passing game
