The cliche' "a game of 2 halves" was coined to describe games like this one. The first half from the Vermin was total crap. They fumbled, stumbled & bumbled their way to a 0-1 deficit, gave their Coach nightmares, and generally sucked arse. The second half seemed to be going closer to script until Manfred got crunched in a one on one block, broke a rib, and was rushed to hospital. As a result, he'll miss next round's grudge match against VOTSA.
Leading 2-1 with almost no time left, Coach allowed himself to relax a little. Surely nothing could go wrong now...
Famous last words.
A gesture from Nuffle was all it took to turn back the clock, and bestow unbelievable amounts of luck on the Bogans for their last gasp drive. A failed block from Boris Becker meant that Pete was still standing at the end, and after some quite improbable dodging, the Bogans escaped with a draw.
As tempting as it is to write off the whole game as total arse luck, credit must be given to Matt. He put himself in all the right positions to capitalise on Nuffle's blessings, never gave up, and managed to ruin Germany's day. Of course he'll pay dearly for annoying us, but as to when, noone is sure. Relegation is fast approaching, and this draw seems to put us right in the firing line. Fear not though fellow Germans, our memory is long, and our patience is large. We will have our revenge.

Twahnlows:

3 votes - Pete: Scored both the Bogan's TDs, and the second one was so improbable that he should go buy a scratchy. Managed to hand a bit of physical punishment out too, but really that was secondary to the impact he made on the scoreboard.
2 votes - Trev: Made a blitz in the first half that was the difference between Germany winning 3-1, and drawing 2-2. With the amount of dodging, weaving & straining he had to do to get to Ferdinand, he should change his name to "Lucky Phil".
1 vote - Bazza: Didn't actually make much of an impact with the statisticians, but the reality is that without him, the Bogans couldn't have scored their last TD. His speed forced Germany into a defensive pattern that left them open to buggery by Nuffle. And buggered we were.

After the smashing received from the Zen Adepts this was always going to be a hard one to win. Coupled with ego problems between Bazza and Robbie over who was the greatest and things looked grim, never leave Nuffle out of calculatioins though. After a suspicious coin toss the Vermin received and looked set to score until an unlikely blitz from Trev caused the turnover, after 2 attempts Pete caught a pass from Jacko and managed to get the TD. Went into the 2nd half 1 up but with Dazz and Locky badly hirt and Ozzy sufferring 1st game nerves unable to wake up from a first turn KO (never got back on the ground). Jonno had drunk too much at the break and stood around confused for a couple of turns. Meanwhile G.V. turned up the heat. Wazza was Graf Zeppelin's 2nd victim and Matt Tinsen hurt Fitzy while Jonno stood around. The boys had no answer for the skaven's ferocity and Kaiser Wilhelm comfortably waltzed through a TD. Having 6 players on the pitch and a pitch invasion at the start of the next drive did not help but Jonno and Pete tried to even the odds by sending off 2 of the Vermin including star thrower Manfred von Richthofen. A fumble by Jacko and that's all she wrote Kaiser Wilhelm scoring and winding down the clock some in the process. The game looked over but for some "astute" timekeeping due to the high number of injuries actually meant that there was more time left than was first believed. Still with 6 on the field a hero was needed. Nuffle reached out and blessed Pete for the drive, he could do no wrong, didn't fall, made dodges that would have challenged a wardancer and held on to the ball that Jacko sent into the end zone to steal the draw.

Twahnlow votes

3/ Graf Zepplin (2 cas, favored by the ref a dirty rat)
2/ Kaiser Wilhelm (scored the TDs pressued Jacko)
1/ Colonel Klink (made position, true vermin)
