Darth Maleval was a Quarren Sith Lord in Darth Krayt's new Sith Order encountered by Trooper Anson Trask around 137 ABY on the planet Yinchorr. He spoke Basic around his Human counterparts.
Darth Maleval on Yinchorr.After Trask accidentally annoyed the Sith Lord, Sergeant Harkas saved Trask from being punished by the Dark Lord by excusing him as a "noob". Maleval made it very clear that should such an occurrence happen again, he would deal with Trask himself.
During the raid on the planet Borosk in an effort to bring all stormtroopers under the rule of Darth Krayt and the Sith, Maleval became aware that Lieutenant Gil Cassel of the 407th Stormtrooper Division was the brother of Captain Jared Cassel in the 908th Stormtrooper Division, who had defected to Roan Fel.
To test Cassel's loyalty to the Krayt-led Empire, Maleval ordered him to kill his own brother or stand condemned himself. Gil Cassel's loyalty to his brother was greater than his loyalty to the Empire, and Maleval killed both.
Maleval's murder of the Cassel brothers catalyzed a thoughtless attack on the Sith Lord by the trooper Hondo Karr. Maleval was about to execute Karr with his shock whip, but was shot and killed from behind by Anson Trask.
