Dangrek is an outsider. A Gorilla with no family, he was destined to be alone. He came to Library in search of a place to be accepted. As a talented painter he was welcomed and put to work illustrating various manuscripts for the scholars. It was here that he met Linga, a fine female Gorilla in her prime, and fell in love. Their love could not be kept a secret despite their best efforts and Linga was ousted from her family. Tragically, Dangrek could only watch on as his love was killed in the last match of the Marble Division by Yarrah the Grey of the Bear Clutchers.
