The Mannerheim Cross (Mannerheim-risti) is a Finnish military decoration introduced after the Winter War and named after Marshal Mannerheim. It is considered to be the most honorable military decoration in Finland. It can be awarded to a Finnish soldier "regardless of military rank in times of war for special bravery, for important results in the battles and for meritorious command of war operations." The award was intoduced into the Order of the Cross of Liberty and a bearer of the cross is called a Knight of the Mannerheim Cross. This team has been made in honor of these men.
