Originally a shamanistic tribe that had adopted the Giant Panda as its totem and set out to prove the great animal spirits might by conquering all other gods and Nuffles himself on the Bloodbowl pitch, the Fighting Pandas have, with the leagues founding, settled down and turned into a respectable pro-team, although they still paint their faces with white-and-black war paint for every game and give themselves traditional pandarin fighting names to link them to their ancestors proud heritage.

The team-name goes back to the tribes name in pandarin: Fai Tin Pan Dau: Godless Killing-Machines.

The Fighting Pandas finished the first season on fourth place (tied with Crux of the Crow on points, but losing on touchdowns).

CURRENT CURSES AFFECTING THE FIGHTING PANDAS:

THE CURSE OF THE BAMBOONI - When the Fighting Pandas turned Pro to play in the league and, for the first time, allowed players from outside the tribe who did not share the tribes belief in the Spirit Of The Panda to join the team some of the tribes elders were angered. The most outspoken and the most powerful of them, the tribes head shaman, Bambooni, put a curse on the team to punish them for abandoning old traditions and turning their back on the Great Panda. Since then the curse has taken the life of 8 Pandas. It has been speculated that the curse only hits unbelievers and that, if you pay respect to the old ways and pray to the Great Panda, no harm will come to you, but this theory has been disproven with Mei Xiangs death, who belonged to the most dedicated followers of the Great Panda and whose death was too much of a freak accident to be considered anything but a result of the curse.

THE CURSE OF 4 - The jersey #4 has brought incredibly bad luck. No-one of the first 4 Pandas to wear the number 4 lasted longer than 4 games. It is unclear whether the Curse Of 4 is its own seperate curse or an extension of the Curse Of The Bambooni.
