Born a Kaleesh, Grievous was a warlord on his homeworld, Kalee, in his people's war against the Huk. He was later transformed into a cyborg after a shuttle crash, becoming a fusion of a Krath war droid's powerful robotic structure and his own organic brain, nervous system, and sensory organs. Brilliant golden eyes with black, reptilian pupils and red-raw sockets were the only visible reminder of his organic past as a Kaleesh.<br><br>After being recruited by San Hill, he became head of the CIS military. He earned the rank of Supreme Commander shortly after the war's beginning. He led the Confederacy to victory over the Galactic Republic in many battles, and personally ordered the death of billions, causing countless citizens across the galaxy to fear him, and personally orchestrated the attack on Coruscant. Grievous was trained personally by Darth Tyranus in lightsaber combat, and became extremely skilled in the art. He killed a large number of Jedi in lightsaber combat, earning him the designation of the most notorious Jedi hunter since Durge.<br><br>After three long years of fighting, Grievous was killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau, ending his reign of terror. However, years later, a scientist used his body as the basis for an experimental droid, N-K Necrosis. Where the light side was associated with creation and life, the dark side was associated with death and destruction. A Force-user who followed the dark side was known as a darksider.<br><br><b>The Sith Order</b> was a sect of dark side Force users bent on destroying the Jedi. They were characterized by their single-minded lust for power and the brutal methods they were willing to use in order to acquire it. The sect existed in many diverse forms throughout galactic history. Originally, the Sith were a humanoid species that interbred with a group of exiled Dark Jedi, but after the rise and fall of that people, the meaning of the word 'Sith' changed. In time, the Sith would not be identified by their race, but by their dedication to the ancient Sith philosophy.
