When the human village of Southhaven discovered a vein of warpstone in their local mines, the Skaaven soon followed, attempting to steal it for themselves. After weeks of tense standoffs and negotiations, a compromise was reached. The Skaaven would get rights to the Warpstone, while the Humans would get most of the gate income from the freshly formed BloodBowl team that was made as part of the deal.

While the old Southhaven Stadium is still in need of dire repair following the collapse of the NAF (which lead to Southhaven's original team going bankrupt and thus the stadium's disuse for several decades) the Skaveen don't seem to care as long as they can get as much warpstone as they want!
