Never Final Flings
Roster [L] Halfling

Returning from a three year errand to return a piece of lost jewellery (having received nothing by way of a reward) our plucky band of pint-sized pals found themselves destitute and without food, lodgings, food, money or food!

As they wandered aimlessly through the tranquil, yet inopportune county of Home-Derbyshire, they caught two things...

...First was the distant chorus of cheers and applause but, more importantly, their hung on the air a sweet and enticing aroma; hotdogs, candy floss, popcorn, corn-dogs and the unmistakable bouquet of Bugman's XXXXXX!

Allowing their noses to lead their hearts the tiny troupe raced towards the heavenly scent, their stunted, hairy legs whirling furiously like a miller's wheel after a heavy storm!

Before long the minuscule mob were confronted with an awe inspiring spectacle. Brightly coloured banners filled the air and vast crowds of similarly colourful patrons were herding into an enormous curved building. More importantly, the smell was emanating from inside...

Sneaking through the turnstiles and dodging nimbly past security guards and in between the swarming throngs, the vertically challenged chums suddenly found themselves in an open field. Whoops and jeers of derision mingled unintelligibly with cheers and laughter; all eyes were focussed squarely on them.

Unbeknown to our petite protagonists the day's scheduled match was short a team of Dwarfs, who had been waylaid by Hobgoblin bandits en route to the stadium. Seizing the moment, the promoter took to the field - jerseys bundled in his arms and a mixture of stress and relief painted across his swarthy features!

After what seemed like an eternity of running, ducking, dodging and chasing it became apparent that the object of everyone's attention was not in fact a roast suckling pig and was nothing more than a leathery egg of some sort. None the less, leather was just about edible and this was the first sniff of a meal the diminutive diners had had in days; a ferocious intensity gripped them as they sought a safe spot to consume their catch!

Making a beeline for the far edge of the field, the other creatures surrounding them seemed intent on retrieving the egg - Perhaps it was more delicious than it's appearance suggested? - Nothing was going to stop them from finding out!

As the rag-tag, hairy scrum made it to the end zone they descended upon the egg with ravenous intent. Deafening cheers and the disappointingly chewy and flavourless egg caused the Halflings to cast their eyes abroad in search of more satisfying quarry. To their amazement, those of their number who had taken knocks in the egg chase were being given free Bugman's XXXXXX by beautiful, buxom wenches. The fearless friends looked at each other with expressions that spoke in silent accord - This is the life for us!
