Morkfjord Maniac Mermaids
A long time ago the shaman of the Grim Moonz tribe, Warrug Shroommuncha saw a vision from Mork (or was it Gork?) itself. The great ork god told him about the ultimate shamanshroom that can be found in the far north, the land that humies called Norsca. The green god told him that the shroom can be found in the lair of a long dead Yheti King, growing on the potent dung of that royal creature.
Warrug shared his vision with the tribe. The Grim Moonz, being a highly spiritual tribe decided that the Ultimate Shamanshroom has to be found, so they set out on a long and perilous journey to Norsca.
Hailing from the World Edge Mountains they had a long journey and plenty of fighting ahead of them. A after a few minor skirmishes against mountain goblin tribes such as the Rockrunnaz and the Stonegazers, they left the World Edge mountains and descended into Sylvania. After defeating the brain hungry hordes of Baron Adelbrecht von Bluthof they had a relatively uneventful journey into the Empire. In the Empire of Man they kept to the forests, only fighting off the ocasional beastman ambushes or forest goblin attacks.
They reached the territory of the Reavaz, a pirate goblin tribe at the northern part of Nordland and after some negotiations(that included a lot of bashed heads) they bought a looted longship and set sail for Norsca. On the way there they saw the legendary mermaids of the Sea of Claws and heard their unbearable wailing. Warrug was blessed by visions, that led them to the cave of the ancient Yheti. There they found the Ultimate Shroom on a mountainous pile of frozen dung, growing under a throne made of bones.
Celebrating their success the orcs feasted on the Shroom. That was when disaster struck. The shroom had strange effects on the orcs. For a forthnight they sunk into a catatonic state, where they were swimming around in the fjord near the entrance of the cave, imitating the song of mermaids (this sounded like the dying scream of a mating werebear) and eating seaweed. After this was over they engaged in destructive and self destructing behavior, banging their heads into rock, trying to imitate fish and eating dung.
Warrug was not affected by the shroom in any of these ways, but had visions of a field, a ball and bloodshed. One day a strange looking humie wandered into the cave and told Warrug that him and his tribe were selected in the annual bloodletting contest of the region, that includes a horned ball. The shaman knew that this was the chance to prove themselfs as the greatest tribe in the world, so he agreed.
This is how the saga of the Mermaids began.
