| Some fools never learn. Back for yet another helping of those famous rats, the Unbelievable! squad makes its third generation of bloodbowlers. The first edition lasted a long time, but never really won. Their successors won a lot, but got clobbered into submission very early. Will this team win a lot and survive a long time? Or die losers very early? Only time will tell... ******************************************************************************* And the answer is, die like rats. When you can play vs an amazon team and suffer 3/3/3, including two niggles and 3 perm RIP, you know Nuffle had it in for you that game. Throw in loss of ff (obviously) and only 30k winnings, not enough for a linerat, just to top it off. Wonder how we'll recover from this one... ******************************************************************************* Took a while, but we're back on our feet again, especially after having demolished, fittingly enough, an amazon team to get three skills on rookie linerats. Gotta do something about the ff, though...team won't be able to continue if we keep winning by several scores, inflict much damage, and still lose fans... ******************************************************************************* And so it happened that after game 45, all sorts of personal records were established. First, this team has now lasted longer than any skaven team I've ever coached before, and is still highly competitive in any game I enter. Second, at TR 273, That's Unbelievable! has become my all-time highest rated team, edging out my original <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=91947">Scions of Shannara</a>, who capped at TR 265. I am particularly proud of this team, which possesses a good blend of skills all around, a little bashy, a little dodgy, speed and strength. The niggles are starting to become a little worrisome, but I just can't bring myself to retire them...yet... ******************************************************************************* Well, I retired them. In an absolutely horrid match vs some necros, 600 lb wanted to take the day off, but the coach said no, apo get him in here! This fateful decision ruined the day, as we then had to witness the death of two of our most advanced uninjured team members. So the coach, in a fit of rage after the game, retired every player who's ever told the coach he couldn't make it to the game today, thus completely gutting the team of virtually every useful team member. All that remains are two VERY fast gutters, a decent thrower to get them the ball, and a handful of near-rookie linerats to try to open a hole. Not sure if the team will be able to continue for very long, but we'll try. The team has too much history to just give up on after one bad game... ******************************************************************************* ...but two bad games is enough. First action of the first recovery game nets a dead linerat, apo failure. Yes, we might have a dirty player rat on the team. No, we do not use him to foul much. His sole reason for having the skill is for deterrence--you foul me, I have the tools to hit back just as hard. You play nice, he plays nice. That simple. Believe me or not, your call. You'll be missing a great game if you back away simply b/c I have a dp on the roster. In addition, don't get scared away due to the presence of multiple OTS gutters. They are a terrific tactical option for end of half scoring as needed, but I do NOT do all my scoring using them. Point of fact, I will do everything in my power to avoid using them if at all possible to score, in favor of spreading the spp's amongst my players. This does not mean, however, that I will avoid using them if the situation dictates. ;-) |
