2/8/09 - Sad news today. Je'von the Freak, star Ogre player for the Titans of Tilea, was forced into retirement after a tough loss versus the Cursed Lords. He was carted off the field after sustaining a Smashed Hand (and consequent Niggling Injury). Je'von was so angry at being hurt by what he called a "cheap shot" that he lashed out at the horses (all 8 of them). They had to be put down. Coach Kingfisher was sad to hear the news, but immeadiately offered Je'von a position on the coaching staff. Je'von will continue to assist the team as the new Blocking Coach. He played in 10 games, racking up 11 casualties, 65 blocks, 3 rushing yards and 1 VP. He joins Catchers Coach White Shoes Wilhelm and deceased Blitzer The (1st) Earl of Monte Campbello in the team's hall of honor. Thanks for all you did, Je'von, you will be missed.

3/16/09 - The team played it's 15th game today. 3 players on the roster have played in all 15 games - Stephano Luna, Alberto Del Greco, and Grigori Blanda. Blanda still has earned no SPPs. He is the only player on the roster who has not earned at least 1 SPP. The team treats him as more of a mascot than a player, but the fans still love him and cheer for him to take the field each week. The team's age is starting to show, as the roster is up to 4 players with niggling injuries. Most of them still manage to make every games, so the coach is willing to stick with them for now. That 6th win still eludes them, though they are up to 3 ties.

3/23/09 - Today saw another tough loss after a hard struggle by the Titans. It also saw the death of beloved Lineman Karl Von Bulluck at the hands of Jerran Starcracker (Lineman - Ser Arten's Knights). Not satisfied with a kill, Ser Vengin Eldan SI'd star Catcher Franco Wycheck (Groin Pull - Miss Game). Rumor has it that the team is nearly ready to bring up Karl's brother, Piter Von Bulluck, from the farm system. He'll certainly be looking for revenge against any and every elf he can lay his mitts on. There was some positive news as the team announced the newest member of the team, Ogre Blocker Len'Dael the Land Whale. When asked how he liked being a Titan, Len'Dael responded, "Dey told me I kud have pie if me hurtz udder teams". Welcome to Tilea, Len'Dael, we'll start baking those pies!

4/14/09 - Star Catcher, Franco Wycheck, announced his retirement today. Although he tried to rehab his injury, he was not able to play at his former potential. He played in 15 games, with 6 CPs for 6 paces, 80 paces rushing, 6 blocks, 1 foul, 4 TDs, 1 Casualty, and 2 MVPs. Franco suffered a niggling injury during the team's 6th game and played 9 more games afterwards. Franco will become the team's new assistant coach of catchers.

4/20/09 - Lineman <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=6331962"> Grigori Blanda </a> retired today. He was 1 of the first 3 Titans to play in the team's first 18 games. Stephano Luna and Alberto Del Greco attended a small ceremony for him. Lineman <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=6331941">Alberto Del Greco</a> was injured and will miss his next game. This leaves only Thrower <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=6331916">Stephano Luna</a> with an unbroken streak of playing every game. Alberto will join Eduardo Giorgio, Ulrich Vanden Bosch, and Matthias the Bruce as players who have only missed 1 game. Well done, Titans!

Unfortunately, Coach Kingfisher was very angry about losing to Bork Mork McOrc and fired the entire coaching staff (which also got the TR down to 175). When asked by reporters what exactly he was upset about he angrily snapped, "That's none of your %@#&ing business! You and Nuffle can both go %@#& yourselves!" We're thinking it had something to do with the Orcs stalling for 3-4 turns and the Titans failing to punish them sufficiently. The fans and players both look forward to seeing Coach Kingfisher in a better mood, and soon!

1/10/10 - After a few feeble attempts to rebuild, and with the team on the verge of being retired, the Titans of Tilea took a match today against <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=515254>Athel Loren Savages</a>. It seemed like a fairly even matchup, with the Titans missing some players but still having a man advantage while the Savages had a definite skill advantage. In a hard fought match that could have gone either way, the Titans pulled off the 2-1 victory. If not for the Savages star War Dancer, <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=7251044>Regret</a>, failing both a throw for a TD and a later pickup for a sure TD the game could have ended differently. Coach Kingfisher said, "Finally, these guys are starting to get this game. And I didn't even have to hurt anyone to encourage them."

2/23/10 - On the eve of the XFL V Humans tournament, the Titans were looking for a good match to gather their strength and keep in playing shape. They got it from the Lizardman team, <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=416789>Dragons Of The Black Pool</a>. A hard fought match that ended in a draw but saw some exciting moments including the lizards getting the ref in the 1st half and fouling the Titans star Ogre, <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=6555994>Len'Dael the Land Whale</a>. Fortunately the apothecary was able to keep Len'Dael healthy and on the field to contribute. The only downside to the match was when star Blitzer, <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=6355995>The 2nd Earl of Monte Campbello</a>, was crowd surfed by a skink and killed. The Titans will miss the fast moving Earl, but rumor has it that his son, the 3rd Earl of Monte Campbello is already being groomed to take his father's and grandfather's (<a href="http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=6331914">The Earl of Monte Campbello</a>) place on the team in the very near future. Fans can only hope that the family genes will pass onto this latest Earl (Dodge and +MA).

4/10/10 - A devestating match against <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=486459>Mighty Fhqwhgads</a> left the team in shambles. <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=6331959>Matthias the Bruce</a> was killed, and 3 players were forced into retirement - <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=6555994>Len'Dael the Land Whale</a>, <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=6367262>Lorenzo Bianco</a>, <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=7166137>Franke Wycheck</a>. Vincentius Paulus the Younger will have to sit out the next game. The team's future is now in serious doubt. Coach Kingfisher was unavailable for comment, but reporters could hear a great deal of yelling and smashing stuff behind closed doors in the locker room followed by a few screams. The owner released a very brief statement that the entire coaching staff (apart from the Kingfisher) had been sacked.

7/11/10 - Another crippling loss thanks to Nuffle. 3 players this time - 2 deaths (see below) and Vincentius Paulus the Younger was forced into early retirement. He was hired on as a Throwers coach now that Ciarrai O' Coileain is showing some potential. Match report below:

Total dice rape. No offense to my opponent, it wasn't his fault that the dice favored him so heavily. The only reason my luck is 65% is because I was trying desperate moves and succeeding (5s and 6s on dodges, picks ups in traffic and long bombs). But of course, I'd fail easy rolls to include all the catches that would have resulted in TDs. No, where the dice were killing me was armor rolls (my players failed theirs, his players made most of them). All my fouls were worthless. 2nd or 3rd block of the game resulted in the death of Mikhäel Rõõs but I let it go to save the apothecary for someone better. Then my damned apothecary failed to save Elvin Du Bethea when I called on him.

I am so sick of being in a perpetual rebuilding state with this team. Even when I play other teams that are rebuilding, I get the shaft. Thanks, Nuffle.

7/21/10 - Finally, <a href=http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=3042174>a game</a> that doesn't end in me losing players or FF. I actually made FF and skilled up one of good lineman with his 3rd skill. It took 36 games, but I finally did it. Of course, the story doesn't end there for the Titans, oh hell no! We got $#!& for money, and Al Del Greco aged on that 3rd skill roll. He learned Dirty Player but it may all be for naught as I'm seriously thinking about finally retiring this team for good and starting over.

However, on the advice of a coach I respect a lot, I'm going to just retire Alberto Del Greco for now and try to rebuild with only 10 players. The worst that can happen is the team can get %@#&ed up in their next game and I can still $#!&can the entire bunch of losers.

I am really getting tired of clawing my way out of the hole, only to have Nuffle keep pushing me in and laughing at me. It's getting %@#&ing old.

7/25/10 - After losing 9 players in 10 games (plus a number of other injuries that didn't quite retire a player but led to eventual retirement/death), the Titans of Tilea have their first Star Player - <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=6331904>Eduardo Giorgio</a>! Eddie earned 2 SPP on a block made against him by <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=7568089>Kelly</a> of <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&team_id=623680>Exploratory Laparotomy</a>. I may have finally faced a team with luck as bad as mine :)

Not that we canceled each other, this game also saw the demise of the phenom, <a href=http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=7345913>Kenneth of Albion</a>. The apothecary had already been called to save Mikhäel Rõõs III from what would have been a first turn RIP. Kenneth will be sorely missed as great things were expected from the Dauntless catcher. Coach Kingfisher was very angry at ownership for thinking with their pocketbook when calling for the apothecary to be used on a no-skill lineman. Perhaps ownership will leave personnel decisions to the coaching staff in the future.
