| The Ironbeard Privateers, led by Thorgrim Ironbeard are the most vicious mercenaries to sail the Sea of Swords. Although officially commissioned by the Karak Merchants Guild and possessing a Letter of Marque from the Dwarven King himself, the Ironbeards are little more than pirates. The company ranks consist of oathbreakers, traitors to the realm and cutthroats from the darkest cells within the Karak Peaks. The Ironbeard Privateers command a fleet of three powerful ships. The flagship Grey Wind, captained by Thorgrim himself is the biggest ship in the fleet. Possessing 162 cannons to a broadside, this floating fortress is unmatched at sea and is capable of laying waste to coastal castles with ease. Although smaller than the Wind, the frigate Odin's Hammer is no less impressive. Possessing superior dwarven craftsmenship and served by the most seasoned crew within the Ironbeards, Odin's Hammer can outmatch any other ship toe-to-toe and is more often than not leading the privateers in the vanguard. The Red Dragon is the finest corsair in the seas. Built entirely for speed, the ship is often seen flanking targets while Grey Wind and Odin's Hammer engage from the front. Red Dragon possesses a massive harpoon cannon called the Dragon Spike within the dragon's jaws, which it uses to grapple other ships for melee. The crew of the Red Dragon are a murder of ruthless undisciplined cutthroats with a purchant for blood lust who specialise in ravaging other crews in boarding melees. |
