Dreadport Spears

The coastal city of Dreadport is home to all manner of merchants, fisherfolk and mercenaries, all united by their love of bloodbowl and interest in purchasing cheap seaside properties to renovate and sell on in three-to-five years' time. The city has boasted a small but proud Slann population for generations and, uneasy with the dominance of the Necromantic Seafarers in the city's annual competition, the frogfolk established their own team, the Spears, and hopped beyond the groins and walls of their home to take on all comers!

Joining the 145 League, the team had a rude awakening to the realities of bloodbowl outside of their familiar home, as they lost 0-2 to the Necromantic Necros with Heatitude, and sustained three deaths in the process, including the losses of both blitzers, Yunae Tiik and Aarae Haelbeke. Despite their deaths, and that of linefrog Yakah Quillae, the team rallied to overcome the Human Machotez bordes 1-0, as catchers Wimmi Zael and Vorae Brikka starred, securing and interception and the game-winning touchdown respectively. The team's third game was a tight 2-1 win over the Lizardman Xonqex team, where the Spears suffered yet another death, this time endured by hard-hitting linefrog Blaed Trivverith who led the team with two casualties. However, Vorae scored twice and protected the Spears from the lizards' comeback, and the team rode their luck with several fortinuate crowd throw-ins from loose balls to victory.
