The virus, the daemon and the Game

It started with a word, less than a word, a protoword, a thought. Here tho’ thoughts had weight, a thought projected though the vial by enough mortal minds had power even power enough to twist the ribbons of energy that made up this world. As it twisted it changed, become more than it was, it became sentient.
A sentient thought struggling for existence within a churning void of malicious hate, but that thought had power, backed up by a million mortal minds, it could defend itself. Fearful, careful but most of all subtle it did, it gently moulded though predator-mind that reach out to it, they might start as enquiring, or even malicious but soon they found room within their own mind for that thought. Some of harboured only a small space for the thought, these minds were of little use. Other mind consumed themselves attempting to contain the entire thought, these minds where driven insane and in that insanity they became none existent, for how can a thing that’s been only a mind exist without reason. They exploding like supernovas of passion, ripping apart any nearby mind. There where tho some minds that allowed the thought room, plenty of it even but without losing their grasp on unreality. Greatest of these minds was Tal’Garn, with the thought inside it, Tal’Garn set out to brake thought the vial, into the mortal realm to spread the worlds of his master, and to seek knowledge of the thought. For this tho it would need a band of followers it found them amongst its own kind that had already been suborned by the thought. With its band assembled Tal’Garn broke the vial and set out in search of the a gridiron, to learn more of the thought. That thought, the focus of so many mortal minds, BALL.
