Robert Leroy Johnson <i>May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938</i>

At a cross-road in the delta Robert sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his <i>bloodbowl</i> talent

He died after drinking poisoned whiskey, offered by the bartender of the club where he was performing because he was flirting whit his girlfriend. Other says that he survived the poisoning only to succumb to pneumonia later, in his weakened state.
Another (lesser romantical) possibility is that Robert's death may have been Marfan's syndrome, which is a connective tissue disorder.

Alan "Blind Owl" Christie Wilson - <i>July 4, 1943 – September 3, 1970 </i>

He was the lead singer and composer of the blues band Canned Heat. He also played guitar and armonica

Died of what his autopsy reports as a barbiturate overdose. While some colleagues maintained that he had committed suicide, he left no note and there is no conclusive evidence to support this.

Timothy Charles Buckley III - <i>February 14, 1947 – June 29, 1975</i>

Experimental vocalist and performer who incorporated jazz, psychedelia, funk, soul, and avant-garde rock in a short career spanning the late 1960s and early 1970s.

He was tha father of musician and singer Jeff Buckley.

Jeremy Michael Ward <i> May 5, 1976 – May 25, 2003 </i>
He was the sound technician and vocal operator for The Mars Volta and for the dub outfit De Facto.
Ward was found dead in his Los Angeles home by his roommate on the evening of Sunday, May 25, 2003 of an apparent heroin overdose.

Ronald C. "Pigpen" McKernan - September 8, 1945 – March 8, 1973

Founding member of the <b>Grateful Dead</b>, he sang and played keyboards, harmonica, percussion and guitar.

His death was caused by his excessive wine drinking.

Jimi Hendrix - <i>November 27, 1942 - September 18, 1970</i>
Born Johnny Allen Hendrix and later renamed James Marshall Hendrix

A self-taught player, left handed

He died asphyxiating on his own vomit. It's not clear if his death was accidental(wine+sleeping pills) , suicide, homicide(killed by his german girlfirend, the last person who saw him alive) or medic's fault (accidentaly or not when traslating him to the hospital, in this case he has to be alive when the medics arrived, they have always denyed that).
