Another Gobbo team joined the WIL in season LV - the Spider Crushers.

Hailing from the same region and inspired by the deeds of the Creeping Spiders, the new Spiders joined WIL intending to ride the coat-tails of the already successful Spiders.

As a show of cooperation, the two Spider teams arranged joint scouting in the pre-season and found twin potential in trolls Big and Bigga Boot. The two trolls signed one each for each team.

Coach awoke several mornings later to discover that he had somehow signed off ridiculous severance packages with a host of players including stars Snowpa Troll, Choppa Choppz, Yarrf Upchuck and the only ever-present after 54 matches - Grimm Bigbooger.
These now former Spiders players would all go on to enjoy fantastic retirements full of guest interview appearances and commentary roles.

A gnarly old Gobbo with a bad attitude, Skatta busted into the Spiders HQ one day and ranted on and on about how he 'could do better than this bunch o' ****s' and how 'if you played like that in my day, you'd have got ****' and how 'if I woz playin' I'd teach you ****s a thing or two' …

Skatta kept it up until the Spiders' Head Coach said he could join the team just so he would shut up!

Dodge, duck, dip, dive and … dodge!

Yukki thinks he is 'all dat' and that he 'runs this team'.
Yukki hogs the ball and never passes, preferring to 'do it all his damn self'.


Pride comes before a fall ...

'200 touchdowns in 7 games'

These were just some of the statements used to describe Krarfti Ploppdroppa by the eleven agents that came knocking on the Spiders Head Coach's door one day.

Coach signed Krarfti on the spot, only later discovering that all of those statements held true only in the back yard of Krarfti's hut in games against his grandma.

Sneaky on and off the pitch, Funkki excels at creeping about, putting the boot in and stealing stuff and not getting caught.

He got on the team by sneaking into the Head Coach's office late one night and leaving a lucrative 'signed' contract for him to join the team mixed in with all the other paperwork.

Now Funkki sneaks around the pitch evading everyone on his team and the other team wherever he can and getting paid a stack-load for every match!!

The first Gobbo in the Akademy (and the Spiders' first team for that matter) to hit a completion, touchdown, casualty, MVP AND interception, Nooblin is a hot hot hot Akademy prospect.

Nooblin has made several stand-out performances for the Akademy and is tipped to be the next Super-Star for the Spiders' first team and to take them back to the Conferences where they belong.

In his infinite wisdom, the Spiders’ head coach realised that perhaps there were too many new recruits coming up through the Akadamy that experience was lacking through the teams’ starting line.
Early into the Spiders’ 9th season in the WIL, coach dipped into the transfer market and plucked two veterans off the free agency in Snert Roflsnot and Snobble Oogs.
Now with a mixture of youthful exuberance and level-headed experience, the Spiders look in good shape for the season ahead ...

Spitta found his way onto the Spiders' team unexpectedly when Coach counted up his players in the dressing room ahead of a match vs Slann Power and only counted 15.

Spitta, part of the janitor squad at the Spiders Web Stadium, got pulled into the Spiders dressing room to make up the numbers.
