Falling in every direction at once (The improvisors guide to being a 145 Admin)

1) The 145 vison/purpose/goal/aim/ethos

PCs vision for the 145

  • The 145 is a place where any BB coach, but ones new to BB and new to fumbbl especially, can find and play relaxed games in a non competitive environment, that does not affect rankings, with similar coaches.
  • The 145 is here to help train, teach, guide and assist coaches into playing Blood Bowl and enjoying themselves.
  • It is a place where any question, even 'is block good then?' gets a serious answer from someone trying to help you, a place where advice can be sought, friendships made, and blood bowl made easier to learn.
  • It should build confidence and self belief, the ultimate goal being the coach moves on into the wider realms of blood bowl.

How to's :

  • Accepting/denying teams into the 145 League competition
    • Check the team is a 145 L team not a C team
    • Check the coache is not too good, if its a new coach to you that you don't or recall, just click on their home page and get a feel for how experienced they are and how good they are, you're mainly looking at coach ranking and games played/won. If you are in any doubt post the coach in #admin and ask for a view.
    • Check that the team hasn't played any games outside of the period of the current league that it is entering.
    • Check to see if we have been pinged in the #tournament entry, if we have check that the team is actually there (check it hasn't been entered already) before you get back to them and say "did you sing them up here?..."
    • Check that the team is correct for the level of person applying so a grad can only select from the pinned list in the graduate area. Experienced coaches should be a team made mainly of linemen with maybe one or two positionals and is 'standard' team no vamps no stunties no underworld, perhaps humans/elves with one or two positionals is the idea, we need to trust experienced coaches until they prove themselves to be a problem which in 99.9% of cases is never
    • you can only tell who is a grad /experienced coach from looking at the colour of the tag in discord but there are one or two that don't discord and have been made experienced coaches or grads check out the list in the admin channel
    • for those who don't do discord and they applied a c team for example then we have standard text here you can paste into a message and send to them.
    • we don't accept teams in the last week of the league to stop someone coming in in the last week and smashing 8 wins out of nowhere and demoralizing the previous leaders
    • everyone we enter into the league we add to a group PM for those that done do discord the text is normally copied from the previous one and then we just invite everyone new in

End of season to do list

1) Run last league update then paste the code into past sprint winners

2) Announce the winners on discord #announcments see previous text further up in the announcements list add the code to paste the badge into the bio of the team if it played 8 or more games

3) Grad the agreed grads and welome them in #145graduates point out the pinned message, they can now only choose the reduced team selcetion

4) Edit the league page to reflct the new league,

new image, new start and end dates and any new rules chages.

5) edit the #welcome on discord to reflect the new dates and new tournament name and any rule changes
