Engineers Starting Roster & Tactics

“Looks like the ref’s pulled out the red card on that chainsaw, Bob.”
“Yeah, It’s a real shame to see such a fine killing machine stuck in the dugout!”
“Don’t worry, Bob, the Engineers are bringing out their Deathroller and bombs for this half…”
“I LOVE THIS TEAM!”

Starting Rosters

Variation 1

  • 6 Engineers
  • 2 Kickers
  • 2 Runners
  • 1 Bombadier
  • 1 Master Engineer
  • 2 Re-rolls
  • Total = 980k

Starting with only 2 Re-rolls is a little risky, though you have your bases covered with fairly good skill access anyway. 6 Players with Block and 2 with Sure Hands means you shouldn't need more than 2 to start with anyway. Starting with a spare man on the bench is important as your secret weapon players will get sent off and you have two dirty players too so you may lose one of them if you are fouling a fair bit. Just makes sure you do as much damage as possible with them in the first half. These Dwarves have trained hard to play dirty.

Variation 2

  • 9 Engineers
  • 1 Kicker
  • 2 Runners
  • 1 Master Engineer
  • 3 Re-rolls
  • Total = 1000k

Strength in numbers is important for Dwarves and a rookie team can look awfully exposed after its secret weapons get sent off (which can happen way too quickly when you don't have a proper bench.) This lineup takes advantage of the Engineers' cheap lineman to start with a deep bench, so you won't have to worry about being under-manned once your weapons start getting banned. It should only take a couple games to add the bombardier and he'll really appreciate having a couple extra linemen to fill in for him.
