Famous Teams
Dwarf Anvils, first mentioned in 2nd edition. Dwarf teams from this region were mentioned in issue 5 of the BB magazine.

Background
Karak Azul (Iron Peak), is the southernmost Dwarf stronghold. In the depths of the mountains are the finest precious metals and stones. But the most valuable treasure of the kingdom is the great forge. Rivers of lava flow deep in the mountain abyss; blacksmiths and runesmiths work tirelessly forging the finest Blood Bowl equipment in all the lands. The armour is shipped to Dwarf teams the world over, though the finest armour is kept in the Iron Peak for the Ironbreaker teams. Not content with being the best armoured and most resilient team in the sport, the rune smiths and Gnomes of the forge create Rune Golems, forged using ancient Dwarf magic. A player to last for generations.

Rationale

Designing the Ironbreakers roster was failry straight forward. They are essentially even more heavily armoured Dwarves. In the BB magazine 5 they are also represented this way. So the linemen gain a point of Av and the expense of Ma. Blitzers just gained a point of Av and did not lose any Ma as they will work as the teams runners, they also have 4 Blitzers instead of 2 Blitzers and 2 Runners, which makes the team more focused around their Strength and brute force and has less ability to move the ball.

Although Tackle as a starting skill is something I generally really dislike I felt this team really needed some Tackle because they are just so slow they need some weapon against ag4 speedy agile teams from the get go. So I allowed them to have 2 Blockers, basically the same as normal Dwarf Blockers, swapping 1 Ma for 1 Av.

Finally we gave the team the Rune Golem. To add to their masters of the forging thematics. Rune Golems are forged in Karak Azul the Ironbreakers keep in warhammer fantasy battle. So this was also fitting. Their stat line was in keeping with the rest of the team, Av10, Thick Skull, St5 like a standard Big Guy, Ma3 so it moves at the same speed as the Dwarves. Bone Head was chosen as the negatrait, the same as the Gnome Contraption representing when the mechanism does not respond.

Teams design by Garion and the CIBBL team.
