No-Block Inaugural Tournament

Our first rookie tournament was an Open Round-Robin style. Coaches chose which races they wanted to play, but it was encouraged for them to vary the teams to get a feel for the game sans block skill. Friendlies were played before hand, but TR was capped at 120. Sixteen coaches participated in the inaugural tournament. princevaliant achieved top honors with his Royal Bloodlines Vampire team.

Blockus Negatus Secundus

Our second rookie tournament was also an Open Round-Robin style. Again coaches chose which races they wanted to play, and a good mix of races was attained. Friendlies were played before hand and TR was capped at 120 still. Eleven coaches participated in the this tournament. princevaliant again achieved top honors with the Hobgoblin Superstars.

Tolero Tertius

Our third and most successful tournament to date was also an Open Round-Robin style. Again coaches chose which races they wanted to play, and unfortunately(?) the heavy beater teams were in abundance. Friendlies were played before hand and TR was capped at 120. Eight coaches began this tournament, but great recruiting by staff members resulted in a full twenty-one teams! This exciting development along with PM's from more interested coaches warranted the recruiting of more coaches for a fourth rookie tournament. Tolero Tertius top honors went to Azure's Amazon team Embrace the Wind.

Quadrus Eradicus

Our fourth rookie tournament basically held the overflow demand from Tertius. Fourteen teams competed in this Open Round-Robin style. Max team rating was 120 to begin the tournament. Quadrus Eradicus took a departure from previous NBL tournaments in that only agile teams were allowed. Up to three of each race: Amazon, Dark Elf, Elf, Goblin, Halfling, High Elf, Human, Skaven and Wood Elf teams were allowed to apply to the group. Amazon and Skaven are full up. Azure's skaven team, Web took away top prize by so wide a margin that he left early to join in on the NBL Veteran II tournament.

Quintus Annihilus

The fifth NBL rookie tournament went back to the original format, allowing up to two of each LRB team. However, no pre-tournament friendly games were allowed. Popular support of having only new teams participate in rookie tournaments was upheld by staff. A small recruitment produced thirteen teams to compete. We Hate Wights, an Undead team coached by princevaliant edged out the competition in this close race. This was princevaliant's third victory in the rookie series.

Sextus Obliviatus

The sixth rookie tournament of the NBL follows the original format of allowing up to two of each LRB team (well, almost). Some extra lizards managed to sneak in. A motion was made to remove point awards for touchdowns and casualties, and having no protests, this change was made. Sixteen teams, of which two retired, participated in this tournament. Karhumies' Amazon team Tight Pack nosed out Azure's Undead Timeless Generals with a better record. This is the second Amazon team to achieve a rookie title, the first being Azure's Embrace the Windin Tolero Tertius

Septus Tyrannus

The seventh rookie tournament of the NBL follows the original format of allowing up to two of each LRB team. Eight teams began this tournament on April 8, but the eight filler slots were quickly occupied as well. Catandy's Ogre team, Blockless Boneheads surpassed all contenders for the Septus title.

Octus Cruciatus

The eighth rookie tournament of the NBL follows the original format of allowing up to two of each LRB team. Fifteen rookie teams began this tournament and four retired from it. tzilacatzin's undead team, Looking Good While Losing, took first place in the tournament. They are the second undead team to take a rookie title.

Novenus Executus

The ninth rookie tournament of the NBL follows the original format of allowing up to two of each LRB team. Thirteen rookie teams began this tournament and one retired from it, which prompted the banning of this coach as a repeat offender. Azure's skaven team, Webs. This was Azure's third rookie title and the second with a skaven team.

Dekus Destructus

The tenth rookie tournament of the NBL follows the same format. Nine teams began the tournament in mid-July. The last few matches wrapped up on September 7 and found princevaliant's Necromantics All Puppies Must Die in the top spot.

Hendekus Nivenmorphous

This the eleventh rookie tournament began in September 2007 with 10 teams. Strangely, only seven played any games. RealMadns's Humans Unnecessary Violence took first in this small attraction. This is the first human team to take a Rookie pennant.

Dodekus Demolitius

The twelfth rookie tournament of the NBL began with a huge resurgence of interest. Twenty teams competed in this monster event. A not so shocking victory by princevaliant's was made impressive by the fact that he accomplished it with the Halfling Snap-Crackle-Pop-Squish-Splat! after playing against 13 of 20 coaches.

Triskaidekus Terribilus

The dreaded Thirteenth Rookie tournament of the NBL featured fourteen teams. Incredibly shocking games were played in which HunterX's Undead Team NBL Oceans 13 brutalized three of his four initial opponents' teams. At this time it looks like HunterX may in fact win his first pennant.

Tetradekus Terrificus

The NBL's 14th Rookie Tournament is slated to begin on January 18th with nine teams signed on at this time.

Race breakdown of Rookie Tournament winners: Amazon (x2), Halfling, Hobgoblin, Human, Necromantic, Ogre, Skaven (x2), Undead (x2), Vampire

The NBL Experience I
Towards the end of Quadrus Eradicus it was deemed necessary to find a next level of competition for non-rookie teams that were not yet of high enough calibur for a Veteran tournament. The maximum starting team rating was set at 125 and capped during the tournament at 150 not including cash. A maximum of two teams from each race were allowed on first come, first served basis. The Experience is the first Round-Robin style tournament of the No-Block League. Azure's Embrace the Wind amazon team finished in the top spot with 81 tournament points followed by Popcorn, princevaliant, and phubar with 74, 73 and 71 points respectively. The finals have been played and princevaliant's vampire team Royal Bloodlines has achieved top status.

The NBL Experience II

The second Experience tournament of the NBL follows its' predecessor with maximum starting team rating set at 125. The 150 TR cap during the tournament was removed to bring this bracket in line with the others. A maximum of two teams from each race were allowed on first come, first served basis. The Experience II is a Round-Robin style tournament of the No-Block League. Games are set to a weekly schedule and have reasonably met each deadline. Eight teams began this tournament but one had to withdraw. The Ravenloft Lovelies have taken over the eighth spot and play continues.
