Where once, pit fighters were just criminals or prisoners of war, now they are a professional class. Successful pit fighters can win significant prizes and a few of them can become incredibly wealthy.

Experienced pit fighters are well versed in most forms of hand to hand fighting, especially unarmed combat. This is perfect for Bloodbowl.

There are several types of pit fighter and they can normally be recognised by the armour they wear or weapons they use.

The most feared of all is the Pit King. He is normally the most experienced fighter and has the best weaponry and armour.

The Bloodbowl field is a superb place for the Pit King and his cohorts to display their prowess.

Positionals

Pit King

The Pit King is the leader. They are very experienced in combat and command loyalty from his team mates.

Due to his advanced hand to hand combat skills, he has both the Block and Wrestle skills. This gives him the optimum control in a blitz or block action. He can decide whether to block his opponent and push them out of the way or just wrestle them to floor and allow a teammate to run through the gap.

The Pit King has an extensive knowledge of skirmish fighting as played out in the Pit, so is able to show great leadership. This is represented in the Leader skill.

This figure can be represented by an Ulfwerenar miniature.

Pit Veterens

These players are the right hand men of the Pit King. Carrying out his orders with brutal efficiency. They are very experienced in the pit fighting arena and have frequently faced opponents much larger than themselves and beaten them. To represent this, they have bother Block and Dauntless.

They can be represented by a Norse Berserker miniature.

Pursers

These are lightweight armoured pit fighters. They fight like elves or skinks, running down their prey and hitting them with quick jabs and then retreating. They hunt out the ball carrier and if knocked down, jump up to continue to pursue their quarry. They have MA 7 to reflect this and the Jump Up skill along with Block.

They can be represented by a Norse Runner/Catcher.

Pit Fighter

These are the fighters who have managed to survive and graduate from being a lowly Pit Slave. They are not as experienced as the other positionals and as yet, haven't been able to afford to buy better armour for themselves. They start with AV7 and Block only.

This position can be represented by the thrower.

Pit Slaves

These players are the linemen of the team. They have sold themselves to the pit fighter circuit and hope to survive long enough to obtain the position as a recognised pit fighter.

These are represented by a Norse lineman miniature.

Dwarf Troll Slayers

Slayers love entering the Pit to fight for honour, glory and 'fun'. They have the same characteristics as the Troll Slayer on the Dwarf team, but have the Loner trait as they are playing on a non-dwarf team.

This is an optional position. If a coach has the required miniatures, they can be included in the Pit Fighter team.

Design Notes

The team is designed within the constraints of the miniatures in a Norse team.

 Position  Minature
 Pit Slave  Norse Lineman
 Pit Fighter  Norse Thrower
 Pursuer  Norse Runner/Catcher
 Pit Veteran  Norse Berserker
 Pit King  Ulfwerenar

Tier 1

This roster is designed to be a Tier 1 team.

Wrestle/Block Interface

Having a position which has both Wrestle and Block gives new options of play. Is it a greater advantage to wrestle the opposing player, where both players fall to the floor or just use block instead?

Rerolls

The rerolls should be at 50K to represent their almost military discipline and training, however due to the inclusion of the pit slaves and the troll slayer, it is raised to 60K.
