How Triad Trials Work

Each Triad Trial will consist of 3 individual matches played between the 3 coaches on the 2 opposing groups. These 3 Matches will have different weightings of (d4)x, (d3)x, (d2)x. At the start of the tie, each Triad will submit which player will be playing in which match (this information will not be given to the opposing team, and choices must be made before the values of the variable match weightings are generated). The Scores are then calculated by multiplying the match weightings with the w/d/l/f points (3/2/1/0) and dividing by the overall weight to normalise the score. This will generate a score 0-3 for each Triad and the one with the highest score is awarded the win. The triads will then compete in a league table sorted by # of Trial wins, # of Trial draws, score difference.

Each coach in the Triad must play at least one match from each weighting category.

Team Rules

To ensure that a variety of types of roster are represented, the league uses the race categories adopted by the WIL/SWL (as listed below).

The teams in each category and the current breakdown of our membership is listed below:

Category Rock teams (0): Dwarf (0); Chaos Dwarf (0); Orc (0); Chaos (0); Undead (0); Khemri (0). Category Scissors teams (0): Lizardmen (0); Necromantic (0); Norse (0); Skaven (0); Nurgle (0). Category Paper teams (0) : Dark Elf (0); High Elf (0); Wood Elf (0); Elf (0); Human (0); Amazon (0).

Category Dynamite teams (0): Ogre (0); Vampire (0); Goblin (0); Halfling (0).

(Note that teams are broken down into these categories on the basis of the potential damage they can inflict, not how much they can take.

Any system chosen will always be somewhat imperfect and arbitrary - this is just our one!)

Each Triad of 3 will have to comprise of 1 Rock, 1 Scissors and 1 Paper. (dynamite teams may be substituted in to replace 1 of the squads if you wish.

Deadlines

At the start of each round each triad will have to submit thier preferences of which coach will be playing which multipling category. They will be given 3 days to do this and the matches will be announced as soon as both triads have submitted. Triads will then be given a further 7 days to play the 3 matches (1 per coach) to complete the round of 10 days.

If no preference has been received by the round deadline, then teams will be drawn at random.

If you have not played your game and there are only a few days left to the deadline then please let us know if there is a problem. Once the deadline has gone past then we will grant extensions where we deem it reasonable and it is possible for you to play within 1-2 days (you must usually have agreed a time for an extension to be granted).

What we want most of all is for games to get played. If the league is held up for some reason and your game is still unplayed and unforfeited when the deadline has passed then we expect you to try and use this lucky gift.

TR caps and Team Retirement

Season 1 all teams will be new [L] TR100 teams.

Teams can be retired and replaced with new TR100 teams at the end of the season only.

Exceptions may be considered if a team gets off to a *very* bad start (we are nice about it really).

Rules Infringement

Don't break the rules is a nice simple summary. If you repeatedly fail to meet deadlines or otherwise are a detriment to the league then we may be forced to kick you from the league. Due to the layout of the league this is likely to have a significant impact on your team mates season so please bear them in mind (as well as everyone else). We reserve the right to invent other rules on the spot if it becomes necessary to deal with any unpleasentness, damaging the wiki, or anything else. Hopefully that wont happen.
